~Perseverance~
I never thought I could make it through something so traumatic, of tragically losing my husband of 17 years. Today, February 5th marks 7 years since Steve was hit by a hit-and-run drunk driver, while riding his Mt. bike. I still find myself remembering how painful everything was. Even though I would like to believe my heart is fully healed, the truth is I still process through painful memories. And that's ok. But I can't stay there. I don't understand the things we go through on this earth but one day, when we get to heaven me and my boys will ask God the perplexing question. For now, I will choose to focus on the good things I have and my marvelous future.
I am reminded daily of all the good things I DO have. The blessing of 5 phenomenal sons, the amazing community of friends, family and strangers blessing us & praying for us. One of the biggest blessings from the Lord, of a God fearing husband! Who is eager and willing to love this Widow and my 5 Orphans. Who is restoring our broken family into a redeemed family, with a bright future. Praise the Lord!
Our past isn't just our past. Our past is inside of us, and until we learn to process the trauma/pain we will be stuck there. Yes, we are all going to go through hard things, but with God we can endure and will persevere through anything! Your past doesn't have to define your future. There is so much more.
”My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up in you the power of endurance. And then as your endurance grows even stronger, it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.“ James 1‬:â€2‬-â€4‬ â€
God turns all things together for good, even when we don't see a way out. And when we don't understand it and the pain is unbearably heart breaking. đź’” He is right there fighting our battles on our behalf.
”So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.“
â€â€Romans‬ â€8‬:â€28‬ â€
It doesn't always make sense what we go through, but He turns the good, the bad, the ugly- all things- for good.
”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.“ Proverbs‬ â€3‬:â€5‬-â€6‬ â€
God is the healer of brokenness.
Process your pain with Holy Spirit.

Your Future is worth it.
