There is so much research going on right now in the field of mental health treatments. It's time to take these available treatments out of the stone age! For example, M**A is being studied for PTSD treatment. For now, Ketamine is the only legal and FDA approved (as a medicine in general, not specifically for mental health treatment) "psychedelic" treatment available. Let's use the tool we have currently as we continue to uncover new psychedelic treatments!

Ketamine, when used as directed by your provider, is low risk for addiction. In fact, we are actually using it to TREAT addiction! It will not fix all your problems. It is a valuable tool, when combined with work such as integrative psychotherapy! Ketamine is well studied and proven to be effective! Although not FDA "approved" for depression treatment, it can be used as a first line treatment for depression.

There are certain "absolute contraindications" (NO GO!) to Ketamine treatment. These include pregnancy and active psychosis. There are however, other conditions when well controlled, that are not contraindications. These include hypertension, seizure disorders, bipolar/history of psychsis. This is why a medical screening by a provider before you start treatment is so i mportant!
