Covenant Hills Treatment Center

Covenant Hills Treatment Center Breaking the Chains of Addiction for Over 30 Years For more than two decades, we have provided a unique alternative to traditional substance abuse treatment.

We specialize in the treatment of individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders and dual addictions, as well as those who may benefit from strong relapse prevention curriculum. We strongly emphasize the spiritual aspects of recovery in both our non-denominational Christian 12 Step program and in our Traditional 12 Step program tract. And, we provide all of this in completely gender-separate s

ettings. Our staff of skilled professionals administers the most sophisticated treatment available. Through lectures and individual counseling, we educate our clients on the psychological, physical and spiritual implications of long-term substance abuse. Using group counseling, individual counseling and psychotherapy, we help each client discover and effectively address emotional or psychological issues that might interfere with their recovery. And, we help each client determine and address their own unique relapse warning signs. Our staff encourages clients to establish or nurture their relationship with God. Clients may choose to participate in either our non-denominational Christian 12 Step program or our Traditional 12 Step program. In the Christian program we offer a Christ-centered, biblical approach to recovery, while in the Traditional program we present recovery based on God as the individual may understand Him (as presented in Alcoholics Anonymous). Clients requiring highly structured treatment are admitted to either our men’s or women’s Residential Inpatient Treatment program, usually for 30 days. For clients who have completed our Residential program and need the continued support of a sobriety-valued environment, we provide additional treatment in our Transitional Care program. Here clients prepare to transition into a healthy life in sobriety. Recovery plans are refined, goals are set and met and damages and issues caused by addictions are addressed. Clients enter our treatment programs with the knowledge that we have been providing outstanding treatment for over two decades and can be further comforted by our excellent credentials. We maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and have earned the highest accreditation from CARF International, the primary accreditation agency for rehabilitative treatment. We are affiliated with the America Association of Christian Counselors and are an Amen Affiliated Education Center (AAEC). All of our treatment facilities are state licensed and accredited. And, we are so confident in our ability to change lives, we offer a *guarantee to those who complete treatment with us. Thousands of people suffering from alcoholism, substance abuse and various behavioral disorders seek help everyday. Finding this help can be a very frustrating experience. Our crisis response counselors at Recovery Options, our sister company, will spend the time necessary to review the treatment alternatives, whether at one of our treatment facilities or elsewhere, that will best provide you or your loved one with the help they need. OUR PROGRAMS INCORPORATE:
• Christian principles and values

Freedom is possible — and God’s Word shows us the way.

Addiction can feel like chains you cannot break, but Scripture reminds us that God is near and His strength is enough: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

You are never alone in the fight. God is with you, ready to carry you through the battle and lead you into freedom.

At Covenant Hills, we believe in the transforming power of faith-based recovery. Discover how the Bible speaks to hope, healing, and restoration for those struggling with addiction.

🌱 What Is “California Sober”? A Closer Look at the Trend 🌱

Cutting out alcohol and hard drugs but still using ma*****na or psychedelics is often called California Sober. It may seem like a safer middle ground, but for many, it becomes a quiet return to unhealthy patterns.

💭 Here’s the truth:
• Ma*****na still triggers the brain’s reward system, just like other substances
• Addiction doesn’t understand moderation
• Loopholes can keep you stuck in survival mode instead of leading to real healing

At Covenant Hills, we believe in full freedom: body, mind, and spirit. If you’re questioning whether California sober is helping or hindering your recovery, you’re not alone.

We offer som**hing different—a Christ-centered, clinically grounded program built for lasting change.

A glimpse into the heart of Family Day at Covenant Hills for men. Thank you Jodi Barber for sharing this powerful moment.

“It was a good day at Covenant Hills for men. Emotional day besides. It was family day and the family members who can’t be there, watch via Zoom. When I arrived, the parents from home were sharing how proud they were and the support was just beautiful. Many are from out of state or in other counties. One local young man told me he saw my billboard off the 5 fwy years ago.,while another young man stated after watching Overtaken that today was a real eye opener! If any of the young adults see this, please know you are STILL making a difference and always will. Fentanyl wasn’t around when Overtaken was produced but several are in treatment for opioid addiction. Always grateful to Ed Volk and the staff at Covenant Hills. THEY are saving so many people.”

🌟 Staff Spotlight: From Client to Leader – Meet Jason Gill 🌟

After completing treatment at Covenant Hills and stepping into recovery, Jason Gill felt called to help others find the same freedom he did.

He officially joined the Covenant Hills team on Christmas Day 2021, and has since grown into a vital leadership role:
🔹 Resident Manager
🔹 Case Manager
🔹 Now proudly serving as Men’s Program Director

As a former client, Jason brings unmatched authenticity, compassion, and wisdom to his work. He knows exactly what our clients are feeling—because he’s been there himself. And it’s that shared experience that allows him to walk alongside them with both empathy and accountability.

When asked what drives him, Jason shared:
👉 “Witnessing people transform their lives and become the best version of themselves.”

We’re honored to have Jason as our Men’s Program Director, and we’re so proud of the light he continues to shine at Covenant Hills. 💙

🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Jason Gill – 4 Years Sober and Walking in Purpose 🌟

We’re honored to celebrate Jason Gill, who reached 4 years of sobriety on April 13, 2025! 🎉

Jason first came to Covenant Hills after a long battle with m**h addiction. As a proud U.S. Navy veteran, he brought with him a strong work ethic, deep resilience, and a heart to serve. At Covenant Hills, he found not only freedom from addiction—but the foundation for a brand-new life.

Since completing treatment, Jason has continued to grow in extraordinary ways:
🔹 Earned CADC-I accreditation
🔹 Completed Drug and Alcohol certificate through Saddleback College
🔹 Currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Human Services at Saddleback College

His story is living proof that recovery works—and that a life of purpose and impact is possible on the other side of addiction.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of Jason’s spotlight to see how he’s using his story to lead and inspire others in our program today. 💙
