Join us at our next Discovery Day! 🐴

This month, 1,037 visitors passed through Centennial Farm, and Walk Intuit was there to share the healing power of equine-assisted therapy.

Around 100 community members experienced hands-on interactions with our horses, while many more connected with our team to learn how equine-assisted therapy supports emotional regulation, mindfulness, and trauma healing.

Walk Intuit's trauma-informed clinicians offer live demonstrations showing the transformative human-horse relationship in action. Families, homeschool groups, educators, and curious visitors of all ages are welcome to discover how our equine-assisted mental health programs integrate mindfulness, creativity, and relational care.

Happy Mother's Day to every kind of mother, mentor, and nurturer.

The ones who show up every day in all the ordinary ways.
The ones who are healing so they can give the next generation something different.
The ones who are mothering without a map because they didn't receive one.
The ones doing it alone, or mostly alone.
The ones carrying loss alongside love.

Motherhood and healing aren't separate things, often, they're the same path.

We honor you today. 🌸

Mental health isn’t just the absence of a crisis. It’s the ongoing work of learning to feel safe in your own body.

Of finding language for things that have lived inside you without words, expression, or acknowledgement.

Of sitting with a horse and noticing, maybe for the first time, that you just exhaled.

What does “mental health” mean to you right now, in this season of your life? Let us know in the comments!

Remember: You never walk alone 🩵

She didn’t plan this moment.

She was just standing there, holding her daughter’s hand, looking at a horse.

But this is the work: The willingness to be somewhere fully instead of halfway.

Horses have this way of finding the truth. They don’t care how busy you are, how much you’re holding, how long your to-do list is…They feel your nervous system before you’ve said a word.

And so do your kids.

This Mother’s Day, we’re thinking about the kind of mothering that doesn’t make the highlight reel: the regulated breath before you respond, hand that stays steady when everything falls apart, the presence that says I’m not going anywhere without ever speaking.

That’s the gift that actually gets passed down.

We get to witness it out here every day. 🐴

The research on grief is changing everything we thought we knew.

Continuing Bonds Theory and Induced After-Death Communication (IADC) research both point to the same finding: people don't heal grief by severing their connection to who they've lost. They heal by transforming it, by finding ways to sense, remember, and relate to their loved one in a new form.

Walk Intuit's upcoming 6-week grief group is built entirely around this framework. Led by Maranda MacDonald, a therapist trainee with training in both philosophy and mediumship, each session moves from grounding into experiential practice and closes with reflection, giving you tools you'll carry long after the group ends.

This is grief work that doesn't ask you to say goodbye.
It asks you to stay in relationship, differently.

Healing doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in relationship. 💙

One of the hardest paradoxes: when you're struggling to show up for yourself, you might still need to show up for others. Not because you "should," but because connection is how we heal.

But let's be clear about what that actually means...

Showing up for your people when you're struggling doesn't mean:
➡️ Pretending you're okay when you're not.
➡️ Offering support you don't have capacity to give.
➡️ Bypassing your own edges to caretake theirs.
➡️ Making yourself smaller so they feel more comfortable

Rather, it means:
🔃 Telling the truth: "I'm not okay right now, but I'm here."
🔃 Being honest: Incongruence builds resentment. No one wants hollow support.
🔃 Honoring your edges: Learn where you don't have to give, but where you can be with.
🔃 Not making your boundaries about them: You're responsible for your edges. They're responsible for theirs.
🔃 Using clear "I" statements: "I am in pain too...can we be in pain together?" or "I need space, but I can bring you a blanket."

Healing happens in the being with. Not the fixing. Not the caretaking. The being with.

From a trauma-informed lens, our nervous systems are designed to co-regulate. We learn who we are in the mirror of another. What feels impossible alone becomes possible together, not because someone saves us, but because we're seen, we're shown we matter, and we learn: we are with staying with. 🥹

This is what relational healing actually looks like: honest, boundaried, imperfect presence.

Not martyrdom. Not self-abandonment. Just living beings showing up as they are and trusting the relationship can hold it.

Healing happens in relationship. Not because we're "fixed" by someone else, but because in the presence of another who sees us and stays, we remember we're not alone. And that changes everything. 💙
