It was truly an honor for me as well. Thank you for the amazing commitment to justice.

Yesterday our Ministry for Social Justice, Peace, and Creation Care staff and placement students had the honour of meeting Sr Norma Pimentel of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley along with colleagues from the Mary Ward Centre and University of St. Michael's College Campus Ministry. They talked of migration, refugees, migrant workers, and migrant detention in both the US and Canada. Catholic values of solidarity and the dignity of the person were front and centre as they shared stories, ideas, and inspiration.
What a blessing! 🕊️

Today is World Day of Immigrants & Refugees. Our Holy Father Pope Francis reminds us not to forget the human suffering of so many displaced in our world.
They are people on the move who leave their country for fear caused by the violence, corruption, abuses and attacks to their life. They travel great distance. Encounter many life and death hardships. Many don’t make it because the human body is unable to endure extreme conditions of heat, cold, exhaustion. Many are also victims of the evils of human trafficking.
May we open our hearts to welcome them. ♥️
