                                            Let’s clear something up 👣
You can’t actually be “certified” in massage therapy.
That word sounds official — but it’s not regulated, not standardized, and not what gives you the right to practice.
Licensure does that.
Certification? It’s proof you completed someone’s internal standards — not a national or legal one.
So why do so many therapists chase certifications?
Because it used to mean something. Before continuing education became a business, not a craft.
At The Center for Barefoot Massage, we’re shifting the narrative:
It’s not about collecting paper — it’s about deepening your practice, protecting your body, and mastering techniques that actually last.
👉 Swipe through the carousel to see how “certification” lost its weight in our industry — and why it’s time to bring true credibility back to massage education.
