A big thanks to the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce for the soapbox opportunity this morning at Good Morning SLO. Tessa Espinoza, Vice President of Philanthropy for the French Hospital Medical Center Foundation, and Greg Larsen, Assistant Nurse Manager of French Hospital's Emergency Services Department, encouraged businesses in SLO to apply for an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at no cost. Thanks to the Harold J. Miossi Charitable Trust, French Hospital is distributing free AED units, cabinets, accessories, and essential staff training to qualifying SLO businesses and meeting spaces with 100+ employees or capacity. Construction is actively underway on our new comprehensive cancer center in San Luis Obispo. Located on Tank Farm Road and Broad Street, the two-story, 58,000-square-foot facility is on track to be completed in late 2026.

This new center will bring together all of French Hospital and Dignity Health’s Central Coast cancer services under one roof, as well as the Hearst Cancer Resource Center and local physician groups. For the first time in San Luis Obispo County, all services—from medical oncology and highly-specialized radiation oncology, to diagnostic imaging, infusion, and a surgery center—will be available in one location, significantly elevating cancer care in our community.
