In 2023, Cureus published a study on breastfeeding and environmental consciousness. In honor of World Breastfeeding Week, we read through it so you don’t have to, and highlighted some of the key points✍️💡

Each year, the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) brings the global community together to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week, held annually from August 1–7, marking the kickoff to National Breastfeeding Month here in the U.S.

This year’s theme recognizes that breastfeeding is not just a personal act but also a powerful tool for environmental sustainability and climate resilience. Supporting breastfeeding helps reduce the carbon footprint and environmental toll of formula production, packaging, and waste. But to make breastfeeding sustainable, we must also build sustainable systems of support in our hospitals, communities, policies, and homes.🤍

Does the full moon 🌝 bring babies or 👶🏻 babies wait for the full moon? If I was a baby I would wait for this gorgeous scene. Baby boy was born under this beautiful moon the other night. I’m amazed at its beauty just like the momma in all her glory. So grateful and blessed. 🥹 🫶🏻🙌🏻💖

Did you know scar massage can make a huge difference in your recovery after a cesarean? Regularly massaging your scar can help improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and prevent adhesions from forming under the surface. It’s not just about the physical benefits—it can also help you reconnect with your body after birth. And it's never too late to start!

Here’s how to start once your provider clears you:
1️⃣ Use clean hands and a little oil or lotion.
2️⃣ Gently move the skin around your scar in small circles, up and down, and side to side.
3️⃣ Gradually increase pressure as it feels comfortable.
