Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) doesn’t just affect hormones or fertility, it can also impact your relationship with food and body image in profound ways.

Research shows that individuals with PCOS are at a higher risk for developing eating disorders like bulimia, binge eating disorder, and night eating syndrome.

The connection often stems from a combination of factors:
👉 Weight stigma in medical settings
👉 Pressure to diet or lose weight
👉 Body image distress
👉 Hormonal imbalances that affect appetite and mood

At Central Coast Treatment Center, we recognize the complex intersections between physical and mental health. We provide compassionate, individualized care for those navigating both PCOS and disordered eating.
You deserve care that sees all of you, not just your diagnosis.

Eating disorders are complex and often intertwined with other mental health struggles like anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, or substance use.

This is why treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. At Central Coast Treatment Center, we provide trauma-informed, individualized care that addresses the full picture, not just the symptoms on the surface. https://www.centralcoasttreatmentcenter.com/programs

In eating disorder recovery, progress isn’t always loud or obvious. Sometimes it looks like taking one extra bite, showing up to a hard appointment, or simply being gentle with yourself on a tough day.
Those small moments? They matter. They build trust. They build resilience. They build healing. So if today all you did was try, that is more than enough. 💛

Many times when people think of eating disorders, they often envision someone who is visibly underweight but the reality is far more complex.

Did you know that less than 6% of individuals with an eating disorder meet the criteria for being medically underweight? That means the vast majority of people struggling may not fit the stereotypical “sick" look the media has taught us to believe.

Eating disorders affect people of all sizes, ages, races, genders, and backgrounds. And every person’s experience deserves to be taken seriously.

At Central Coast Treatment Center, we provide inclusive, weight-neutral, and compassionate care for people of all body types and identities. You don’t need to wait to get help, you already matter 💛

Recovery is much like the waves of the ocean 🌊

Some days feel calm and steady. Others feel like you're being pulled under. Healing isn’t linear, it moves like the tide, with moments of peace and moments of resistance.

Just like the ocean, you are constantly moving, shifting, and evolving. Even on the hard days, you are still healing. You are still worthy. You are still showing up.

Let the waves be a reminder: you don’t have to be perfect, you just have to keep going 💙

BED is the most common eating disorder in the U.S., yet it’s so often misunderstood or overlooked. It’s not about “lack of willpower.” It’s not about being “too emotional” or “out of control.”

It’s a serious mental health condition and like all eating disorders, it’s rooted in complex emotional, psychological, and sometimes biological factors.

If you’re struggling, please know:
🌀 You are not alone
🌀 You are not broken
🌀 You deserve compassionate, specialized care

Central Coast Treatment Center is here to support you on your recovery journey without judgment, without shame, and with the individualized care you deserve.

Recovery asks us to show up as we are...not who we think we should be.

This quote from Brené Brown reminds us that healing isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about owning our story including the messy, vulnerable parts and choosing to offer ourselves love anyway.

You don’t have to wait until you “feel better” or your body changes to deserve care. You are worthy now. What part of your story are you learning to embrace?

In eating disorder recovery, many of us come face to face with the exhausting pursuit of perfection. Could be in how we eat, how we move, how we look, and how we’re perceived.

Recovery often asks us to question those pressures and begin breaking down the walls we built to protect ourselves. What would it mean to live authentically instead of perfectly? To choose presence over performance?

It’s not easy, but letting go of perfection can make space for something far more powerful: freedom 💕

Sundays can be a good time to reflect and gently set intentions. Your goals don’t have to be big to be meaningful. Small, consistent steps matter 💛

Here are a few examples to get you thinking:
• Eat one more satisfying meal or snack
• Challenge a food rule that no longer serves you
• Speak to yourself with a little more compassion
• Reach out for support when things feel hard
• Practice resting without guilt
• Take a social media break when you need it

What’s one thing you're working on this week? Wherever you are in your journey, you got this!
