There are a few! Different types of bone grafts are needed depending on how much bone you need and where it’s needed. 🦴

Socket preservation: This type of graft is placed in the socket immediately after a tooth extraction to prevent the tooth socket from caving in.

Ridge augmentation: This type is used when the jawbone is thinned due to missing teeth and increases the width and volume of the jawbone so it can provide a stable foundation for implants.

Sinus lift: This type is used when the maxillary sinuses have dropped down and there is not enough room for implants in the upper jaw. The sinus is raised back to its proper position and a bone graft is placed underneath it.
