My kids are obsessed with anything crunchy — cucumbers, carrots, snap peas.
A few platters like this take maybe 10 minutes. Little or no dressing, no fuss — just fresh, simple, and something the whole family actually reaches for.
I grew up with this tradition without fully realizing it. Turkish breakfast — kahvaltı — is built around a spread: jams, breads, eggs, olives, and always platters of fresh vegetables and fruit. Sweet and savory, all on the table at once.
I’ve been bringing a little of that into our week — platters in the fridge for the kids to graze on, or a side for weekend brunch. And honestly, it works for my patients too: when fresh food is prepped, visible, and easy to grab, people eat more of it. No willpower required.
Small habits, repeated often. That’s where it starts.
