Three “Sober Up Spaces” will be on the Cal Poly campus on Saturday, March 14 from 5am-1 pm to provide support to students who are under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol during Patrick's Day festivities.

Locations include:
📍Multi-Activity Center (No. 43, Room 170)
📍Sierra Madre Community Center (No. 113)

Today is Government Communicators Day 🎉 You may be wondering... there's a day for that?

The short answer is yes! If there gets to be a "Talk Like a Pirate Day" ☠ (September 19), then there should also be a "Talk like a Public Information Officer Day" 🤌 (February 20).

Why do they call us Public Information Officers, or PIOs? Because "strategists, advisors, tour guides, spokespersons, photographers, filmmakers, writers, web editors, graphic artists, educators, social media curators, radio hosts, event planners, and emergency responders" is too long and doesn't make for a good acronym. (SATGSPFWWEGAESMCRHEVER... ouch 😳)

So here's to us. The ones you don't always see, but always hear. Whether here on socials📱, the web💌, over email💻, phone calls , tv📺, or radio🎤, we will continue to serve as SLO County's friendly behavioral health experts.

Wait, what's that you say? You'd like to show your appreciation? You're too kind! A simple "share", "follow", "comment", or "like" on our channels would mean the world 🌎🫶 You can also:

🎙️Listen in to Laura's Spanish radio shows on Friday afternoons (see slide 7!)
💚 Save the Central Coast Hotline 1-800-783-0607 in your phone
✨ Order some Naloxone for your first aid kit at NaloxoneNowSLO.org

All these simple actions would mean a lot to us.

Thanks for being our audience and letting us have fun celebrating our work today 💓 Special thanks to those who have helped us deliver our messages. We really do love this job.
