State-of-the-Art Cardiac PET Stress Test Now Available for the First Time in San Luis Obispo County

San Luis Obispo, CA — Residents of San Luis Obispo County and the Central Coast now have access to the most advanced and accurate nuclear cardiac stress test available anywhere. San Luis Obispo Heart, a newly established cardiology practice focused on cutting-edge cardiovascular diagnostics and highly personalized cardiac care, is now offering Cardiac PET myocardial perfusion imaging—the first time this technology has been available in the county.

Cardiac PET myocardial perfusion imaging is widely recognized as the most accurate and safest nuclear stress test for evaluating coronary artery disease. The test can detect severe blockages in the major coronary arteries with high precision and can also assess for small vessel disease, a condition that is often difficult to identify with traditional stress testing methods.
The scan takes approximately 30 minutes to perform and is now available to all Central Coast patients with a physician referral.

Recent clinical guidelines from the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology recommend Cardiac PET myocardial perfusion imaging as the preferred noninvasive test for evaluating coronary artery disease in all patients, reflecting its superior diagnostic accuracy, lower radiation exposure, and enhanced safety profile compared to older technologies.
