Everyone wants a bigger bench… but most people only focus on benching more.
The reality is your bench press is only as strong as its weakest link.
Some lifters are weak off the chest.
Some fail in the mid-range.
Some lose stability and power transfer.
If you want your bench to move, you need to identify the weak point and attack it directly.
That’s where bench variations come in:
Paused bench
Spoto press
Pin press
Tempo bench
Close grip
Slingshot work
Train the weak point, and the main lift gets stronger. 💪

Creatine is Overrated!!!

Creatine works. It’s one of the most researched supplements out there, and I still recommend it to almost everyone.
But some people talk about it like it’s a magic shortcut. It’s not.
Creatine can help with:
• Strength output
• Recovery
• Muscle performance
• Cognitive and health benefits
But the biggest factors for progress will always be:
✔️ Consistent training
✔️ Quality sleep
✔️ Proper nutrition
✔️ Effort over time
Supplements can support the process. They can’t replace the basics. 💪

Everybody wants a strong-looking back… but a strong back also improves performance.
Your back plays a huge role in stabilizing heavy lifts. Whether you’re squatting, benching, or deadlifting, your back helps create tension, maintain positioning, and transfer force efficiently.
Strong back = stronger lifts.
Train your:
✔️ Lats
✔️ Upper back
✔️ Rear delts
✔️ Traps
✔️ Spinal erectors
Strength and aesthetics go together.

Overuse injuries are one of the most common issues I see in powerlifters, athletes, and people who have trained the same way for years.
One of the best ways to help prevent them is by adding variation into your training routine. Different movement patterns, exercise variations, rep ranges, and intensities can help reduce repetitive stress while still driving progress.

Training hard is important. Training intelligently is what keeps you progressing long term. 💪

Trying to increase metabolism naturally often leads people to quick fixes like supplements or extreme diets. The truth is much simpler. Your metabolism improves when your body becomes more efficient at using energy, and one of the most effective ways to do that is by building muscle. If your goal is fat loss, strength or long-term health, understanding how this works can change how you train and eat.

If one side of your body feels weaker than the other, don’t ignore it.
A lot of people naturally shift toward their stronger side during lifts, which can lead to muscle imbalances, compensation patterns, and stalled progress.
A few ways to improve unilateral weakness:
• Slow your reps down
• Focus on control and stability
• Start with the weaker side first
• Use unilateral exercises like split squats, single-arm presses, and single-leg RDLs
Train with intention, not just intensity. 💪

Lessons Learned from My First Powerlifting Competition

Through the grind and grit of my first official powerlifting competition, I've gleaned insights that transcend the weights I lifted. Here's what the journey taught me:

Lesson 1: True Rewards Demand True Effort
Unlike past events where participation alone brought reward, this competition demanded more. Here, the medal wasn't a gesture of showing up; it was a testament to surpassing others who aspired for the same. It embodied the culmination of relentless training and an unwavering spirit, reminding me that the most meaningful achievements are those tirelessly earned.

Lesson 2: The Pursuit of Excellence is Never-Ending
Standing among the strongest, I realized the vastness of potential yet to be tapped. My totals and DOTs scores, while commendable, were not the pinnacle. This revelation isn't a beacon of defeat but a clarion call to push boundaries further, to refine my training, and to sculpt a more potent regimen. It's a journey towards an ever-evolving peak of personal bests.

Lesson 3: Embrace the Unpredictable
In the theater of competition, countless variables play out, many beyond anticipation. This experience taught me the art of adaptability - to hold plans lightly and embrace the moment with joy. It's in letting go of rigid expectations that we truly immerse in the experience, finding fun in the unforeseeable twists and turns of the journey.

These lessons, forged in the crucible of competition, are more than just about lifting weights; they're metaphors for life. They remind us that our greatest triumphs often lie in the pursuit, in the resilience to adapt, and in the courage to relentlessly chase a higher version of ourselves.

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT📢💡

Todd has been dedicating the past two years of his life to his health and his strength. He has worked super hard and lost 70 lbs and built a ton of muscle. I'm humbled to have been able to play a part in his journey!
