Welcome to the 2020 Texas Private School Safety Conference!
Because of tragedies on school campuses in recent years, school safety is under review nationwide. This scrutiny has resulted in great improvements in educational, technological, and infrastructural approaches to safety. The Texas Legislature has mandated certain standards be put into place at public and open charter schools and has provided substantial assistance in funding these changes.
Private schools, however, face a dilemma: how to meet and exceed the standards set for public schools without the same government assistance.
The TPSSC will bring in speakers from across the country to discuss recently mandated safety standards and explore the unique challenges that private schools of all types face today in providing a safe environment. The conference will also generate ideas on how we can effect—and fund—positive changes on our own campuses and communities.
