While we like to have fun and games most of the time, we also take moments to reflect upon our history and look into culture. We visited the exhibit RUTH, Remember Us: The Holocaust at La Jolla Library. It was a moment to remember our past. We enjoyed the wonderful summer day with a picnic from our Billy and Joven, our amazing dining team.

Who knew there was a National Ice Cream Day? We welcomed National Ice Cream Day, July 20th, with a vanilla ice cream taste test. We did a blind test with McConnell's, Handel's, Tillamook, and Jennie's ice cream. Who won? Guess in the post.

We had a blast with Islander's Luau. Complete with Fire Dancer, Hula girls and residents having fun. Wait to see what we have planned for fall!

August brought our very first carnival to San Marcos. Our awesome Executive Director even got into the dunk tank. We had a food booth complete with Cracker Jacks, jello shots, pretzels, and churros. Game booths with a Spin to Win it Wheel, Knock Over Cans, Ring the Bottle, and Basketball.

Our games ended with our Great Employee Race: an obstacle course which included hurdles, stacking blocks, running and more. Residents had fun cheering on our team. Our team knows how to have fun and compete!
