4R Health Products was established in 1998 after our direct involvement with the only pharmaceutical company; Carrington Labs of Irving, Texas that scientifically researched the Aloe Vera plant. The original company was an Aloe Vera cosmetic company called Ava Care. In 1980, Carrington Labs was created in pursuit to scientifically find the functional component in Aloe Vera and discover why aloe wo
rked. In the beginning a major breakthrough occurred when Dr. Bill McAnalley PhD from SW Medical School identified Aloe's functional component, which was Acemannan and a method to keep it intact. This method was critical to stabilizing the newly discovered Acemannan so it did not decompose. and International Composition of Matter Patents which revolutionized the Aloe Vera industry. You can’t patent plants but, this secured and protected the company to start conducting pharmaceutical and nutraceutical (food supplements) research. A huge discovery was found that Acemannan boosted and modulated the immune system unlike anything ever seen in any research before and is far beyond what vitamins and minerals do. With the high cost of funding medical research, it’s paramount to raise money and attract investors. My uncle, Bert Siegel became one of those investors. Within time he became the largest stockholder of the company and that is how my family started in the Aloe Vera industry. Dr. McAnalley’s discovery of Acemannan in Aloe Vera and 100’s of millions of dollars spent ongoing research. Unfortunately, Carrington did go out of business in spring of 2011 but this research is continuing with others worldwide. In the 1990’s and new field of research evolved known as Glycobiology. This novel field opened many other possibilities far beyond what traditional science has ever seen before. The Acemannan molecule and other key sugars from aloe will play many major parts in holistic health and nutrition. As medical research studies continued there was major void that these same molecules we’re available in a dietary form. However; it wasn’t until Dr. Robert Siegel MD, my father realized many more people could receive benefits from these aloe molecules NOW than waiting later. The discovery lead to Dr Siegel’s personal healing and has inspired us to continue his work. Thus, 4R Health Products was created with a new and improved way of making the aloe powder more potent.
