In fire investigation, the difference between speculation and a credible conclusion is the method behind it. Every determination made in an investigation must be backed by clear evidence, sound methodology, and rigorous reasoning. That’s not just good practice - it’s essential for integrity, safety, and justice.

The scientific method provides investigators with a structured path to uncovering the truth: observe, hypothesize, test, analyze, and conclude. Whether determining origin and cause or evaluating material behavior, this process ensures conclusions can stand up to scrutiny, in the courtroom, in the field, and among peers.

Fire investigation isn’t about instinct or assumptions. It’s about facts, data, and discipline. Science is the only foundation strong enough to support the weight of a reliable investigation.

If you want everyone to like you, sell ice cream, don’t be a leader.

If everyone likes you, you’re probably not standing for much.

Because the truth is, not everyone is in it for the right reasons.

Some are just collecting a paycheck.

Some are protecting their ego.

Some are hiding from accountability.

So, if you push standards, call out laziness, challenge mediocrity, and raise expectations, you will make some people uncomfortable.

That’s the cost of doing what’s right.

That’s what leaders do.

If no one’s resisting you, it might be because you’re avoiding the hard conversations.

Playing it safe.

Blending in.

Compromising your beliefs.

But leadership isn’t about making everyone happy.
It’s about doing the right thing and making things better.

And that means being okay with the fact that some people won’t like you for doing the job the way it’s supposed to be done.

Stand up for what’s right anyway.

Speak up anyway.

Be respectful.

Be kind.

Show you care.

Be the example.

Lead.

The goal isn’t to be liked by everyone.

The goal is to inspire and earn the respect of the right people, the ones who are here for the right reasons.

🚑 EMT 253 Taking It to the Next Level!
Today our EMT students dove into spinal mobilization training using both the KED and long spine board, mastering the techniques that ensure patient safety in the field. 🧠🦴

They also skilled out on vitals, reinforcing their assessment game and proving they’re ready for real-world EMS action. 💉📋

Proud of their progress and dedication—this is how you train to save lives. 💪🔥
