I saw so many dads this week at The Family Room and it genuinely made me really happy. It also made me think about how far we have come in normalizing caretaking and how much work there is still to be done.

Parenting isn’t gendered. That’s part of why I chose the name The Family Room. Because when we normalize care as something anyone can give, we create more space for people to step into it fully. We also make it easier for all kinds of families to feel seen and recognized.

To me, being inclusive isn’t just about using the right words. It’s about creating an environment where no one has to wonder if they’re welcome. It’s about making space for different experiences, identities, and ways of showing up.

The Family Room is meant to reflect that. It’s a place for all parents and families. Because everyone deserves a space where they feel like they belong. 💛 Karen
