June is a time to honor the history, celebrate the progress, and uplift the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride is more than a celebration—it's a powerful reminder of the courage, love, and resilience that continue to shape a more inclusive world.

At Mission Hospice, we stand in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ individuals in our community and everywhere. We are committed to fostering a culture of equity, dignity, and belonging—not just this month, but every day of the year.

Let’s continue to listen, learn, and advocate for a future where everyone can live with pride.

Thank you to everyone from the Mission Hospice community who came out to support the Hike for Hope last weekend!

This month, we celebrate the compassion, dedication, and resilience of not just our nurses but nurses everywhere. Whether at the bedside, in the community, or behind the scenes, they are the heart of healthcare—advocating for patients, offering comfort, and saving lives every day.

To all the incredible nurses: Thank you for your unwavering service and selfless care.

Hospice is all about compassionate end-of-life care. It’s also about comfort — not just for patients, but also for their families.

Unfortunately, not every person in need of hospice care has a home they can receive it in. Maybe the place they call home isn’t suitable for the level of care they need, maybe they live alone, or maybe their caregiver needs a few days of respite.

These are the people that Mission House was created for.

Happy National Volunteer Month to all of our volunteers and to our team that makes their amazing work possible! Volunteers support our organization on multiple levels, from patient care to administrative support. Their contributions come from an inspiring place of wanting to give back with their time, presence, and heart.

All this work is made possible by our volunteer department, which takes the time to pair volunteers with patient families, train and develop new volunteers, and continually recruit to meet the growing needs of our organization. A very special thank you to all who volunteer and to those that help make their work a benefit to our community!

End of life care is a privilege for all of us at Mission Hospice. When we hear from the families we have helped during the most difficult of times, it makes us extremely proud.

"You do not know the extent of [hospice] services until you have them yourself. It's almost impossible to tell the kind of comfort it gives a caregiver to have hospice. It takes some of the worry and responsibility off your shoulders. The relief was the biggest help of all."

Our Pathways to Care Careers is an initiative designed to pave the way for the next generation of healthcare professionals by creating new educational and vocational pathways at the secondary and college levels.

These pathways will not only lead to rewarding careers across the healthcare spectrum for students but will also help to ensure that we can continue to provide equitable access to the highest-quality, compassionate care for our patients, caregivers, and families for years to come.

You can help us inspire the next generation of care providers by donating at the link! https://bythebayhealth.org/gala2025-pathways/

End of life care is a privilege for all of us at Mission Hospice. When we hear from the families we have helped during the most difficult of times, it makes us extremely proud.

“Words cannot begin to express the gratitude we feel for taking care of my mom in her final days. Mom had a great fear of death (from experiences she had as a child), yet she was totally at peace and surrounded, not only by her loving family, but a nurturing, loving staff. You do amazing, life changing work. You will all be forever in my prayers.”
