đź’Ą[URGENT: Action needed NOW] Join me in protecting the future of medicine
AB 2098, California’s COVID-19 Vaccine Misinformation Bill, is BAD MEDICINE.
AB 2098 defines “misinformation” as “false information that is contradicted by contemporary scientific consensus contrary to the standard of care.” At first glance, that might sound ok, BUT:
👉This is where the biggest threat to the future of medicine lies.
As we’ve seen many times during the pandemic, the contemporary scientific consensus can change. What is misinformation today, may be truth tomorrow. And is there even a “standard of care” for COVID-19?
If AB 2098 becomes law, physicians (like me) will no longer be able to make personalized recommendations to their patients (like you) that stray even just a bit from contemporary scientific consensus, even if these recommendations are based on the latest evidence & individual needs of my patients, without fear of losing their license – patients who I know better than any legislator on capitol hill, or any physician on the Medical Board.
AB 2098 is a slippery slope. AB 2098 undermines the doctor-patient relationship, and prevents physicians from making evidence-based, personalized recommendations for their patients that they know best.
If AB 2098 becomes law, we lose both the art & the science of medicine.
Please join me in protecting the future of medicine.
👉Call or email Governor Newsom NOW & ask him to veto AB 2098 BEFORE Sept 30 (even if you’re not in CA).
Without his veto, AB 2098 will automatically become law. Here’s how to contact him:
