Open Heart Yoga Yoga at College of San Mateo is lead by Denaya Dailey. Come practice with us for fun or make it a career path!

We offer classes in flow and restorative yoga as well as Yoga Alliance recognized 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher training programs. Open Heart Yoga is an organization of current and former students of the 200-Hr. RYT Program at the College of San Mateo whose purpose is to connect with our community, provide mutual support for one another and create opportunities for our members to grow as practitioners and teachers of Yoga.

Classes start Thursday! Register TODAY for YTT-300!

Become a RYT 500 for less than $700!

The 300-hr YTT at CSM is happening during the 2024-2025 school year! It is designed to build upon your 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. It will fulfill all of the Yoga Alliance requirements to register as a RYT-500.

For CA resident: $690 total enrollment fee (15 units), $17 student body/representation fees.

The training will be TTh both Fall and Spring semesters.

Students will also receive a certificate to teach Restorative Yoga.

Course Information:
The entire certification is designed to be taken as follows in the span of 1 school year, both Fall and Spring semesters. Classes will meet TTh from approximately 9am - 4pm.

Fall semester:
FITN 334 (Yoga Activity Course)
KINE 205 (Adv Yoga Asana Lecture)
KINE 205 (Adv Yoga Asana Lab)
KINE 204 (Adv Yoga Pedagogy)
KINE 203 (Yoga Pedagogy Research)

Spring semester:
FITN 336 Restorative Yoga Activity Course
KINE 206 Yoga Pedagogy Research 2
KINE 300 Anatomy in Motion

A sampling of topics to be covered include:
Understanding fundamental movement theories and analysis: a deeper investigation of the embodied body.
Transitioning and flowing through asana.
Finding your voice as a teacher via the embodied body.
Rest and Digest: moving into stillness through Restorative Yoga (all graduates of this certificate will also graduate with a certificate to teach Restorative Yoga).
Teaching methodology
Defining yourself as a yoga teacher
Developing deeper class themes
Deep dives into yogic philosophy and how to implement that philosophy into your classes
Opportunities to practice teaching a wide variety of populations
Personal electives and workshop creation opportunities.

Upon completion you will be able to register with Yoga Alliance as a yoga teacher with 500 hours of training (RYT 500). Yoga Alliance is nationally recognized as the premier yoga certifying company.
