Harbor Community Health Centers is a trusted provider of state-of-the-art health services for men, women, and children throughout San Pedro, CA, and the surrounding Los Angeles and South Bay areas. Our mission is to provide quality, comprehensive healthcare, and supportive services to those in our community, regardless of their ability to pay. Founded more than 40 years ago on the belief that every person of every age and income level should have access to the best healthcare options available, Harbor Community Health Centers is dedicated to providing cutting-edge healthcare services for residents of the San Pedro area, including preventive options like routine, school and sports physicals, immunizations, ob/gyn care, and health screenings, as well as treatment of both acute and chronic illnesses and diseases. Begun as the "storefront" Harbor Free Clinic in 1970, today the clinic features two locations in San Pedro – a general care clinic and a location dedicated to pediatrics. At Harbor Community Health Centers, patients have access to a comprehensive array of advanced healthcare options, including physical exams, immunizations, health screenings, management of chronic illnesses like asthma and diabetes, family planning services including birth control options, and screening and care for sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs). In addition, the clinic offers access to psychotherapy and other mental health options as well as full obstetrics and gynecological care and pediatrics services to help children stay healthy from birth all the way through their teen years. The Harbor Community Health Centers welcomes new patients from San Pedro and throughout the Los Angeles and South Bay areas, providing skilled, compassionate care in a relaxed setting, and the clinic's practitioners speak both English and Spanish.

HarborCHC is proud to announce that we have been selected to receive the 16th Annual Desert Above and Beyond Award, honoring “Angels on Earth” for our leadership and service. This prestigious award, presented by Angel Light Academy acknowledges the exceptional contributions of local community citizens in service and leadership. We will be honored during an Awards Dinner Gala, on November 8th, 2025.

Angel Light Academy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching leadership tothe both youth and adults. Their mission centers on improving the health, happiness, and well-being of individuals through the practice and demonstration of unconditional love, achieved through service, education, and research.

Harbor Community Health Centers (HarborCHC) is proud to receive seven awards from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for excellence in clinical quality. HarborCHC is one of only five clinics in the nation, and the only clinic in Los Angeles County, to receive seven awards.

These awards include the Health Center Quality Leader (HCQL) Gold Badge, which places the community health center in the top 10% nationwide for two consecutive years. HarborCHC received three National Quality Leader awards for exceeding national benchmarks in behavioral health, heart health and diabetes, and was again recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center that has served the San Pedro Community for over 55 years, Harbor Community Health Centers is firmly committed to protecting the privacy and trust of our patients.

We are closely monitoring the news regarding the recently passed state budget and federal law and policy changes that may impact Medi-Cal/Medicaid recipients. While the full effects of these changes are not yet clear, we are staying informed to understand how these polices will affect our patients. We will continue to communicate transparency as more information becomes available.

Additionally, we acknowledge the news regarding the sharing of Medicaid beneficiary information with the Department of Homeland Security. In our efforts to support our patients, we continue to work closely with trusted partner organizations to obtain accurate guidance for Medi-Cal members and to better understand how this development may affect the communities we serve.

We understand that news like this may cause fear or confusion, but want to reassure our patients that their privacy and safety are a top priority. We do not share any patient data with outside entities unless legally mandated.

No matter the external circumstances, Harbor Community Health Centers will not be deterred from our mission. We remain committed to our mission to provide high-quality, compassionate care regardless of background, or ability to pay, and will continue to advocate for the health and dignity of every individual in our community.
