According to the latest research, our sense of self, our confidence, and even our relationships are shaped by the environments we move through and the way others see us. Subtle social cues can create an upward or downward spiral, which in turn can impact our identity and future. Small but strategic changes can have a profound effect on motivation, learning and resilience.

If you are interested in speaking to a therapist, contact the Community Institute for Psychotherapy at 415-459-5999 x102.

It is important to recognize the signs of emotional distance before it is too late. If conversations feel shallow and forced, affection and touch are rare, and you and your partner no longer feel like a team, there are steps that can be taken to restore connection and closeness. If you are unable to bridge the gap with your partner on your own, consider reaching out to a couples therapist.

To schedule an appointment with a therapist, call 415-459-5999 x102.

The middle way is about the importance of moderation. Though the Buddha’s teachings about moderation may be ancient, they remain relevant to the demands of modern life. It offers a roadmap to balanced living and self-stewardship of one’s energies, and begins with cultivating the right view—a mind that is open, curious, and receptive.
