I am so excited to share that our inaugural Gordon Medical Forum online event, Toxins & Chronic Illness: Lyme, Mycotoxins, & Environmentally Acquired Illness, will take place May 15th - 17th and registration is now open. Click here to sign up: https://gordonmedicalforum.com/toxins-2025?wpam_id=285

Every day, we work with patients with complex chronic illnesses. Each individual is a puzzle, with varying symptoms and overlapping medical concerns. We know how hard it is to have complex health issues and so much confusing information out there.

The truth is that chronic illness is a very personal issue - and often a lonely path. The solution that helps one person may do little to help someone else.

This fact is frustrating and is what keeps us searching for better ways to help you find YOUR solutions.

Well-meaning physicians can misdiagnose when you don't fit into a well-known diagnostic box. So our mission for Toxins & Chronic Illness: Lyme, Mycotoxins, & Environmentally Acquired Illness is to help you, your family, and health practitioners better understand the multiplicity of triggers that can lead to chronic disease.

We created this event to share some of the most overlooked and important factors for overcoming chronic illness, including root cause combinations, and to highlight some of the most significant contributors, which include Lyme and co-infections, mold and mycotoxins, as well as other environmentally acquired illnesses.

The chance to interview people across multiple fields has been the gift that Toxins & Chronic Illness has given us.

Preparing for and interviewing our guests these past six months interweaves our knowledge with our colleagues that we respect and increases the chances that we will find more ways to help YOU in your healing path.

There are 30 experts highlighted, including: Dr. Lyn Patrick, Dr. Isaac Eliaz, Dr. Paul Anderson, Dr. Eboni Cornish, Dr. Kelly McCann, Dr. Joseph Burrascano, Dr. William Padula, Dr. Myriah Hinchey, Dr. Dale Bredesen, Dr. Lauren Tessier, Dr. Jill Crista, Dr. Pejman Katiraei, Dr. Michael Karlfeldt and many more.

On behalf of Dr. Gordon and myself, we can’t wait to see you inside and share all these phenomenal presentations with you.

This clip is from my interview on the Lindsey Elmore Show, where I revealed the surprising connection between chronic sinusitis and brain function. I explained that chronic rhinosinusitis—inflammation of the sinuses lasting more than 12 weeks—frequently impacts cognitive abilities beyond nasal symptoms.

Patients commonly experience problems with executive functioning, memory, sleep, hormonal balance, and mood stability, often without recognizing that these symptoms are related to their sinus issues. Interestingly, many patients are more concerned about these cognitive and emotional symptoms than the nasal congestion itself.

I also emphasized that when sinus inflammation is properly treated, many of these brain-related symptoms resolve, highlighting an important but underappreciated connection between sinus health and neurological well-being.

For those struggling with chronic illness, hearing “your labs look normal” can be one of the most frustrating experiences in healthcare. You know something is wrong—the fatigue, brain fog, digestive issues, and unexplained pain are very real—yet traditional medical testing continues to show nothing conclusive. This disconnect isn’t your imagination, nor is it necessarily your doctor’s fault. It’s often the result of a medical system designed around treating acute conditions rather than understanding the complex interplay of factors that create chronic illness.

Chronic illness rates are increasing at alarming speeds, with projections showing a 99.5% increase in the next two decades for people over 50. According to the CDC, more than 40% of school-aged children now have at least one chronic condition. Unlike acute illnesses with clear, single causes, chronic conditions involve intricate interactions between your body and numerous factors in your internal and external environment.

I am so honored to have my conversation with Lindsey Elmore featured as the most recent 'Best of Recap Episodes'. The gut-sinus connection is one of the integral pieces that I look at with all of my new patients during their environmental intake assessment, and throughout their care with me.

In the episode, I open up about my own personal health journey and how navigating those challenges led me to explore the tools I now use with my patients, especially when it comes to sinus dysbiosis. I also talk about the ongoing process of recovery with Long COVID in so many of my patients—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Happy 2025, I can’t believe it’s already a new year! I wanted to start January with sharing a recent interview I did with Dr. Michael Karlfeldt for his amazing podcast, Integrative Lyme Solutions.

I discussed my journey into the field of Lyme, including insights from my past clinical trainings, and why it is so important to focus on detoxification (and the right steps) when treating chronic infections. I also dive deeper into the complexities of treating patients with multiple diagnoses and sensitive systems, stressing the role of immune system regulation and structural integrity.

Click below to listen about my strategies for involving the use of different peptides and herbal remedies while also highlighting the challenges posed by environmental toxins and the modern stress landscape.

Did you know that pathogens and toxins in our environment can silently disrupt brain function, often without us realizing it?

In my latest conversation with Dr. Melanie Alarcio, MD a pediatric neurologist, we dive deep into the complex relationship between environmental toxins and brain health in our episode, "Pathogens, Toxins, and Their Link to Encephalopathy."

We explore how metals, mold, and parasites can affect brain function across all ages, often mimicking psychiatric conditions like PANS, PANDAS, and CANS. These conditions are frequently misdiagnosed, leaving many without the proper care they need. We also discuss the critical importance of thorough patient histories, comprehensive lab tests, and how infections can impact brain health in unexpected ways.

This conversation is a must for anyone looking to understand how our environment influences our minds and bodies in ways we might not even notice. Listen in now and gain new insights into protecting your brain health. 🧠🌍

Lyme disease and mold toxicity are two of the most challenging health issues many patients face today, and they often come as a package deal.

Dr. Eric Gordon and I understand how these two conditions can overlap, creating a confusing web of symptoms that is hard to unravel. At our upcoming event, The Lyme-Mold Connection, we will dive deep into the critical interplay between these illnesses, sharing insights on how one condition can trigger or worsen the other. Many people suffer from both Lyme and mold exposure, yet the connection is often overlooked or misunderstood—even by experienced practitioners.

This 90-minute event will offer practical insights into why this toxic duo is so prevalent, how it affects patient outcomes, and what doctors are missing when they don’t consider both. From testing to treatment methodologies, Dr. Gordon and I will provide valuable information to help you navigate this complex terrain.

Join us for this event at The Portal Marin on October 3rd, 2024 at 6:30 pm, and gain the knowledge you need to address these intertwined conditions.
