Our connection to water runs deep🌀

Rosa damascena oil is cultivated in the famous Bulgarian Valley of the Roses, where Rose Otto has been produced for centuries. Half of the world’s authentic Rose oil (1.5 - 2 tons) is produced in Bulgaria. Right now is the time of the year when the buds are collected early in the morning to be distilled for this years harvest.

Cohobation

The so-called Rose Otto is the essential oil, steam distilled from the flowers of Rosa damascena. The Rose flowers are distilled quickly after harvesting. Distilling Roses demands considerable experience. It is common practice to redistill the distillation waters. This is referred to as cohobation process. The yield of cohobation oil is several times higher than that from the first direct distillation of the flowers. The phenyl ethyl alcohol in Rose Otto almost exclusively comes from the cohobation waters.

Dear Friends,

If you have concerned yourself with Aromatherapy for a while, chances are you have come across an actual specimen of Inula graveolens or at least have heard some praise for this spectacular oil. You may also be aware that there are light yellowish clear and emerald green incarnations of this oil. Needless to say the green Inula is desired by essential oil users and collectors alike.

Now we have a spectacular new arrival, a clear Inula from Italy. Everyone in the office felt a sense of awe when we first smelled the oil. The fragrance of this precious gem of an oil is nothing short of sensational, easily en par with the green one which we also carry. Don’t forget to check out our green Inula from Corsica as well. There may not be a best type of Rosemary, but if there was, it would have to be the one casually referred to in Aromatherapy as Rosemary verbenone. This Rosemary oil is a multipurpose essential oil and nontoxic, an agent highly effective and appropriate for many aromatherapy treatments.

Our Neroli from Seville is distilled from Bitter Orange trees approximately 130 years old. The fragrance of the oil is of rich complexity, and has a powerful, light, refreshing floral top note with very little tenacity and is not overly heavy on the Citrus notes. This is an oil that belongs in every serious essential oil collection.
