For one hour, you are invited to step out of the pace of daily life and join Richard and others in our community for a quiet space of rest, reflection, and ease.

Richard will guide us through an in-depth meditation designed to give you a taste of what it is like to be on retreat — deep relaxation and presence — followed by time for questions and dialogue.

Whether you are new to meditation or have an established practice, this session offers a chance to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

You do not need any prior experience. Simply find a quiet place where you can be comfortable and join us.

One of the first steps of iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation is Intention.

We all know what it feels like to become pulled in many directions by thoughts, emotions, responsibilities, memories, and distractions.

Intention helps us remember what matters.

Intention helps us come home to ourselves.

What is it like to be on retreat?

For many people, retreat is the first opportunity to step out of the momentum of daily life and enter a different rhythm — one shaped by stillness, practice, and quiet listening.

Through meditation and self-inquiry, something begins to soften.
There is space to rest more deeply, to meet experience with compassion, and to rediscover an inner ground of peace and wholeness that does not depend on circumstances.

Retreat becomes more than time away.
It becomes a remembering of what has always been here.

We are offering several retreat opportunities in the coming months.

Who do you think you are?

In this moment of meditation, Richard Miller opens the first session of his yearlong series, Explorations in Stillness, inviting us into the direct experience of Essential Nature.

Take a moment and settle back.

You might begin with your eyes open and a soft gaze resting out in front of you. Allow your peripheral vision to widen — sensing what is in front, to the sides, above, and below.

At the same time, notice the subtle sense of what is behind you — outside the visual field, yet still present within a wider field of perceiving.

Pause here for a moment of practice.

The next session of Explorations in Stillness takes place
March 26 at 4:00 PM Pacific Time.

The series continues through February 2027.

This meditation, led by Jennifer Cabanero, begins by opening into Inner Resource—a sense of ease and support woven throughout the practice. Then, with curiosity and care, you are guided to meet core beliefs and to rest as Awareness through which all perceptions move. The meditation closes with a brief integration, inviting you to return to daily life, grounded, clear, and connected.

iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation supports inquiry into limiting beliefs shaped by psychological, spiritual, familial, social, and cultural conditioning. Through a series of explorations, we’re supported in letting go of second-hand information and discovering our own first-hand understanding of the nature of reality, the world, and ourselves.

iRest reveals our innate intelligence and intrinsic clarity.

Through practice, we uncover and access an inherent wisdom — an intelligence that knows the precise responses needed to meet the challenges and questions of daily life.

This intelligence is not something we create. It is already present, waiting to be recognized.

In iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation, we often speak about shaping the nervous system through repeated moments of relaxation and re-engagement.

Over time, this supports resiliency, the capacity to engage and disengage, to energize and calm, and to experience sympathetic activation without moving into fight or flight.

Practices such as expanding attention to opposites of sensation, emotion, and belief, along with cultivating the safety of an inner resource, can act like a “vagal brake” and help us meet activation and then return to ease.

Gradually, these experiences widen our capacity for connection and safety.

In meditation, we learn to discern between what is changing and what is unchanging.

This discernment helps us recognize our essential nature, which has always been here. Sensations, emotions, thoughts, and beliefs move and shift, and these changing experiences help reveal what does not change.

This discernment is at the heart of iRest practice.
