A season for going inward...

This is the time of year when many of the world's religions call upon the faithful to turn toward their spiritual practices. Elaine Aron has always taught us that spirituality is key to thriving as HSPs.

Maybe if you are highly sensitive, your mind never frickin gets quiet! It can be so frustrating. Be patient young (or old) grasshopper…It takes a long time and requires commitment on your part. I know you have patience, you are a deep processor and that also takes time. 💙

But HSPs don’t just get stuck in the dumps. We also feel the highs of relationships more intensely. We relish the joy of connection and intimacy, as well as the beauty of a simple day at home with the one we love. It’s wonderful.

That’s a pretty high place to crash down from.

So, when things get hard, they are really hard. We worry that we feel “too much,” need “too much,” and that our intensity will disqualify us from ever being able to last in a relationship long-term. It’s terrifying.

However, with a little effort, intention, and tender care, I’ve seen HSPs turn their sensitivity into the gift it’s meant to be in their relationships, including, and perhaps most importantly, our relationship with ourselves. When we harness our sensitivity like this, it’s magic.

The intimate, deep, loving circle I call Wise Women & Wonder does hold wonder for me. I made up this idea a number of years ago and many of you have joined the journey.

We are at it again this weekend, the FIRST SATURDAY (February 7th) at 10AM Pacific and 1 PM Eastern. You can learn more and register here. Or email me to save your place and send over a VenMo (to avoid the Eventbrite fees). You must reserve your spot one of these ways because sometimes we are sold out.

Some of the women who come have been showing up for many months or even years, and each month we have a brand new member join us. The thing is, there are only so many seats in our circle so we can remain in conversation and spacious for all who come.

What do you talk about? Great question... We talk about what the women bring up, and then the discussion deepens and shifts and we flow with that.

​Is it a therapy group? Complicated question... No, but as a therapist with over 3 decades of mental health service, I have to admit it isn't all that different. I facilitate the group and carefully protect each person's safety which might mean going deeper or staying out of triggering territory. It is unique every time and for every woman.
​
​How long is each meeting? That is always the question for me... We aim for 75 minutes and often go 90, especially if we have a larger group. I also suggest you create some transition time for integration after (either right after, or later that day.)
​
Am I particularly wise? Not at all. Most of you are far wiser. I am a couple of important things, though. I am very compassionate and caring. AND, I am skilled at holding space and facilitating inquiry.

The expectations we have about travelling dance between optimism and worry.

We’ll talk about living in the NOISE... travel, family, work, illness, unmet expectations, THE WORLD...

We’ll also talk about living in our HEARTS... deeply feeling, deeply processing, deeply noticing truth, gratitude, spirituality, connection, love, compassion.

Finally, we will look at living with VISION. knowing what we would love. Planning and designing a life that honors our sensitive hearts and minds.

Am I disappointed about this trip? Yes and No. I wanted to come and show my young son a great time, give him a break from the challenge of living and working a new country.

And yet, as a spiritual person, I uphold my contract ( with myself, with the universe, with a divine? ) to embrace and accept where my feet are today... to make choices that allow me to thrive.
