Ken is 87 years young. Today he helped me carry my tools to the halfway mark with 13 pounds on his back for the first time.

What looks simple is actually meaningful work. A light load, steady steps, and enough distance to challenge balance, trunk control, and walking strength.

For aging athletes, especially golfers, these small, repeatable efforts build confidence and support joint health. They improve how the hips and spine share load, which carries over to daily movement and the golf swing.

Progress doesn’t need to be intense. It needs to be appropriate, measurable, and safe.

💪 Strong work today, Ken.

Hey guys, sharing my meal of the day. A simple, nutrient dense plate like this gives me steadier energy, better joint support, and smoother recovery for the training I enjoy.

Eating well is one of the most reliable ways to support daily movement and long term performance. The body responds well when you give it the right fuel.

Remember, good habits are a lifestyle.

So proud of Mary 👏 72 years young and getting stronger every year.

The Get-Up is one of the best exercises for ageing well because it trains real-life movement, not just muscles. It improves:

• Getting up from the ground, a key skill for independence
• Total body strength, legs, hips, core and shoulders working together
• Core stability, protecting the spine through every transition
• Shoulder control, building strong, resilient overhead strength
• Balance and coordination, moving with confidence under load
• Mobility with strength, hips, spine and shoulders working safely

A 30 lb Get-Up at 72 is not about the weight.
It is about confidence, control and capability.
That is ageing the right way. 💪

Are your hips actually tight, or are they compensating for a lack of trunk rotation?

When the core cannot rotate efficiently, the body restricts hip motion to protect the spine. What feels like stiffness is often a protective pattern, not a mobility deficit.

If you stretch the hips without assessing rotation, you reinforce the compensation.

Assess the trunk.
Restore rotational control.
Then reintroduce hip mobility.

Stop guessing.

If you want better rotation, start by improving your hinge. 🔄

When you hinge well, you protect your back, load your hips correctly, and create a foundation for better movement in every sport.

Adding weight challenges your stability and improves rotational control.
That’s how you build strength that transfers to real movement. 🔄💪

Move slow. Stay tall. Let the hips do the work.

One thing I remind athletes: mobility fades quietly.
You barely notice it until your swing, stride, or strength starts to change. ⚠️

Sitting too long.
Breathing poorly.
Training too fast.
Skipping recovery.

The body responds by limiting movement to stay safe.
But that “protection mode” eventually limits performance.

If you want to rebuild mobility the right way, you can start at bam-metrics.com.

Adding kettlebells to stair work builds real world strength and function. 🏋️‍♂️🔥

Contralateral loading challenges how the body stabilizes and transfers force.
This improves rotational speed and power without forcing the movement. ⚡

This approach helps:
• Build leg strength and work capacity 🦵
• Improve core control and balance 🎯
• Train rotation through the hips and torso 🔄
• Support safer, more efficient movement 💪

Strength. Stability. Rotation.
They work together.

Move with intent. Stay tall. Let the legs and core do the work.

Heavy rope training improves performance because it teaches your body how to produce force and control it under fatigue. 💪

When you can generate power while staying stable, your movement stays efficient.
That is where better conditioning and safer training are built.

Strength. Cardio. Control.
They work together.

Use heavy ropes a few times a week. Drive from the legs. Stay tall. Control the rhythm.

As coaches, we all see the same thing. Athletes don’t just learn from what we program. They learn from every single rep they put in. 🔁

Over the years, I’ve noticed this again and again:
When the pattern is clean, the body keeps it.
When it’s sloppy, the body keeps that too.
You won’t see it right away, you’ll see it weeks later in how they move, recover, and perform. ⚡

That’s why I slow athletes down, make small adjustments, and coach the intention behind the movement.
We’re not just building strength. We’re building patterns they rely on every day. 💪
