Health doesn’t have to be complicated! These 5 pillars of health, once put together, create a strong foundation for our body that lead to a healthier lifestyle ☀️
1. Sleep 😴 - is an overlooked part of our life that is arguably the most important piece of our daily life! Our body is a neuroregenerative organism that has the ability to restore, repair, and regrow nervous tissue cells on its own! For our brain, sleep is when it clears out wastes and toxins that have accumulated throughout the day and allows our neurons to recover to function properly!
2. Diet/Nutrition 🥗- what we input in our body determines the output we see in our daily living. The food we eat affects our gut brain axis (the bidirectional communicating pathway between our brain and gut) The better we maintain our gut brain axis, the healthier our immune system is. Eating Whole Foods over processed is a great way to start.
3. Exercise 🏃♂️- Movement is essential to life! We all know that exercise makes daily living so much easier when our bones are stronger, muscle strength is increased, cardiovascular system is healthier, but physical activity is also great for our brain. During exercise our brain releases neurotransmitters called “endorphins”, which act as the “feel good” messages in our brain. That’s why after a workout, you may tend to feel good or accomplished no matter how tired you are!
4. Habits📝- Good habits make us, bad habits break us. It’s crucial to leverage the natural rhythms of your brain and body to maximize habit engagement. Studies show the first 0-8 hours after waking is when are brain and body are more action and focus oriented due to elevated dopamine, adrenaline, and cortisol levels. Take advantage during those hours, healthy habits equals healthy life!
5. Nervous system 🧠💡-This is where we come into play! The nervous system is the last string of web that ties it all together. When the nervous system isn’t functioning properly, pillars 1-4 cannot function properly. We monitor your nervous system every single visit via computerized infrared thermograhy to make sure your nervous system is functioning optimally… come and get checked!
