These women didn’t just contribute to psychology.

They changed how we listen, understand, and care for one another.

Today on International Women’s Day, we honor the women who helped shape modern mental health.

🧠 Anna Freud – Helped us understand the inner world of children.

🌱 Mary Ainsworth – Showed how early relationships shape emotional health through Attachment Theory.

❤️ Marsha M. Linehan – Created Dialectical Behavior Therapy, helping millions regulate emotions and build resilience.

👨‍👩‍👧 Virginia Satir – Reminded us that healing often happens within relationships.

✨ Brené Brown – Made vulnerability, courage, and connection part of the global mental health conversation.

💛 Kristin Neff – Taught the science of self-compassion.

🌎 Sonja Lyubomirsky – Showed that happiness and well-being can be cultivated.

Their work helped shift mental health from stigma to understanding, from silence to healing.

At Insight Wellness Center, we are grateful to continue this legacy of compassion, resilience, and growth.

✨ Happy International Women’s Day

💕 February: A Month of Love, Kindness & Self-Care

February is often associated with Valentine’s Day—but at Insight Wellness Center, we see it as an entire month dedicated to love in all its forms.

Love for others.
Love for our relationships.
And just as importantly, love for ourselves.

This month is a gentle reminder that kindness matters—especially the way we speak to ourselves during stress, loss, transition, and healing. Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s how we sustain emotional health, resilience, and meaningful connection.

Throughout February, we invite you to pause, breathe, and choose compassion—toward your heart, your mind, and the people around you.

💗 Let love be patient.
💗 Let kindness be intentional.
💗 Let self-care be a priority.

Wishing you a peaceful, nurturing Valentine’s Month.

Living with purpose supports mental health, builds emotional resilience, and helps people cope more effectively with stress and life transitions. When care addresses meaning — not just symptoms — healing becomes deeper and more sustainable. Purpose doesn’t have to be big. It simply has to be true to you.

What gives your life meaning right now?

Journaling isn’t just for the big days — it’s for the everyday moments that shape our emotional health.
Today, I wrote in my gratitude journal, not because it’s Thanksgiving week, but because gratitude is a daily practice that trains the nervous system to soften, settle, and feel safe.

When we put our thoughts on paper, we create space between emotion and reaction.
When we write what we’re grateful for, we gently redirect the mind toward what nourishes us — connection, presence, small joys, and meaning.

Gratitude journaling isn’t about pretending everything is perfect.
It’s about honoring what is good, even on the days when life feels heavy.

A few minutes a day can shift our mood, calm our body, and strengthen resilience.
If you haven’t journaled today, maybe this is your reminder. 💛

About

We are an integrative group of psychotherapists and health care professionals who specialize in therapeutic interventions to help bring about positive changes, treat emotional and behavioral illness, provide preventative services and lifestyle changes for overall wellness. Many people are seeking alternative treatments and may be looking to change their diets and wanting lifestyle support and education. There are wonderful alternatives that can help support both emotional and physical wellness.

We are seeing an increase in supportive therapy for those who are looking to prevent illness or for those who are struggling with an illness such as cancer. With financial struggles, relationship issues, traffic, multi-tasking and overworking people are recognizing that this has to change. Inflammation and stress related illness to include weight gain is on the rise. People are looking for Nutritional/Supplement support. We use multiple interventions. An eclectic approach is used depending on the individual, couples or family needs.

Insight Wellness Center has been providing psychotherapy, coaching, consulting and presentations in the East Bay Area for 16+ years.
