My time has come when I must walk through that valley of the shadows of death and I have found comfort in knowing that I am not alone.

Deacon Freddie Mathis Blocker, affectionately known as “Bill”, departed this life on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Wellstar MCG Health, Augusta, GA.

Family will be receiving friends beginning on Wednesday, May 20 - Friday, May 22 from 4:00 - 9:00 PM each evening respectively.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Springfield Baptist Church, Sandersville, GA with Rev. Calvin Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Sandersville City Cemetery.

First public viewing will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM at Adrick Alexander Chapel, 12223 Broad St., Sparta GA.

Second public viewing will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 12:00 - 6:00 PM at Wheeler’s Funeral Home, Sandersville, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Second Mineral Spring Baptist Church, Mitchell, GA. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
