A little about me...

My life’s work is in finding the cause of, and healing musculo-skeletal pain. With over 32 years of clinical and teaching experience, I help people with acute and chronic pain, worked in women’s health, treated professional major-league athletes, dancers, and week-end warriors.

Trained and certified in 1988 at the Massage Institute of New England, my medical massage practice has grown to integrate several specialties:

Myofascial Release

Structural Integration

Deep Tissue

Advanced Fascial Techniques

Pregnancy Massage

Craniosacral Therapy

In 1995, after almost a decade in private practice, I accepted a teaching position at East West College of the Healing Arts, Portland OR, a leading US massage school. Among the classes I taught, kinesiology, (simply put, the study of muscle and bone location, function and movement,) honed an even deeper understanding of complex body structure, and brought impeccable palpation skills to my private practice.

After a six year teaching tenure at East West, I returned to private practice, to pursue advanced study and to gain experience in women’s health. To that end, I worked closely with nurse practitioners who specialized in women’s health care, mentored under a senior midwife, and attended home and hospital births, supporting both midwife and mother. This training has brought a wealth of knowledge to the pregnancy and postpartum massage aspects of my practice. In addition, extensive, advanced continuing education classes, most notably, human dissection, have greatly added benefits to treating clients’ pain and health promotion effectively.
