We are looking to expand our strategies on helping patients both inside and out of the clinic, as well as gain engagement from the community. What kind of content would you like to see?

1. Articles that provide information regarding home exercise programs, health information, etc. 👍

2. Educational videos that allow patients to follow along from home. ❤️

3. Continuing to post funny memes. 😂

Did you know that you don't have to wait until you are injured to get Physical Therapy?

Most people in the non-medical industry might not realize that Physical Therapy is actually a great way to preventatively maintain your body and keep it from chronic injuries. Physical Therapy can be used to address imbalances and weaknesses in your body as they are forming instead of later on once a habit has already been established.

One of the first questions we are asked when a person calls our clinic is "Do I need a referral?" and the answer is not always! Unless you are using insurance and your insurance requires a referral, our clinic does not require you to receive a recommendation from your doctor. This allows us to be able to meet your needs without making you as a patient jump through hoops in order to receive care you know you need - including teaching you how to redirect your body and use it to its full potential.

If you or someone you know is concerned about something like how to realign posture and maintain proper form, build strength properly in muscles that may be weak, address an area of pain they or you may be experiencing, or just want to meet to get some information on things you could even do at home - please reach out!

Happy New Year!

We're a week late in wishing everyone a wonderful New Year, but we wanted to let everyone know that we are still here!

2025 was a year of change for us here at Action Point Physical Therapy. From moving to a new location, getting a new system, hiring new staff, training in new areas, and meeting lots of new and wonderful people - 2025 ended as a year of growth and change.

Right before the holidays, we hired a new Physical Therapy Assistant Marianne Soliz and she has added a wonderful new element of expertise to our clinic and our patients.

As always, we truly appreciate our staff and the effort they put in to make sure we are providing the best care possible to the people who walk through our doors. We also want to thank all of our patients who have come in and been the highlight of our days. Our goal for 2026 is to continue working and growing in every way possible in order to continue doing so.

From Action Point Physical Therapy to you and your family - HAPPY NEW YEAR! And may this year bring many happy memories and joy.

Action Point is excited to be welcoming it's new staff member and PTA, Marianne Soliz! She'll be starting tomorrow Wednesday December 3rd.

"A native of the Chicago suburbs, Marianne first graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations. After feeling unfilled early in her career, she had the opportunity to complete a Yoga Teacher Training. That training lit a spark within Marianne, and she knew her career path had to change. She went back to school earning her associate’s degree in Applied Science and became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in 2019. When it comes to patient care, Marianne loves pairing the foundations of Physical Therapy with the teachings of her yoga training to help bring a holistic approach to rehabilitation. Combining her experience in outpatient clinics and neurological rehab with the power of yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness – Marianne’s primary objective is to support and encourage her patients through their individual healing journeys."
- Marianne Soliz, PTA

We are confident that Marianne will bring a new light to our clinic and patient experience.

With tough times upon us and holidays just around the corner, we want to help give back to our community. Not all of us can help the way we want to and it truly does take a village, so we are accepting donations of canned and dried foods to be given back to the food pantry/bank in town.

Feel free to bring something in to add to our box! It truly would be appreciated. Will be donating the Monday before Thanksgiving and we will have the box available for donations until after the holidays.

Bone-aparte has been a fun addition to our skeleton crew this week! (See what I did there?😏)

From focusing on his balance "skulls" despite his "shaky bones", to working on his range of motion for "stiff joints", Bone-aparte has been testing all of our tools that we use to help our patients!

A quote from our new-found friend, "Tibia honest, I couldn't have done it without ya!" - Bone-aparte

Isn't he Humerus? 😂

Leave us your best Skeleton pun or joke in the comments! Bone-aparte would LOVE to hear what you've got.

This year, Action Point Physical Therapy will be a sponsor for the Sandpoint H.O.P.E Walk.

"Walk for hope is not you or me but all of us who are tired of seeing our youth, friends, and family make a decision that is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Su***de is a crisis that takes a toll on all of us. If you think it won’t affect you, you are unfortunately most likely going to be wrong. It is time to make sure anyone in need in our community knows that there are people here who care about them and are here if we are needed. It is time to make sure everyone knows how valuable they are. It is time to teach our youth how to value themselves. Life is a gift. It is our responsibility to foster that value in all of our youth. We have an obligation to help every child find the beauty in this world, our community, our families and friends. We each have something to offer and the more we share our gifts the stronger our bond we have and the greater our strength our self-image develops."

Our staff will also be participating so we'd love to see you out there too!

Chris is a Sandpoint native and enjoys all of the activities that Sandpoint has to offer. He returned to his hometown in 2019 after spending several years practicing in orthopedic clinics in the Boise and Maui areas. He was introduced to the profession of physical therapy at a young age by his uncle who was a physical therapist in the area for several decades.

Having been a physical therapy patient after a knee injury during his competitive soccer career, Chris is very familiar with the patient’s perspective and need for not only comprehensive physical rehabilitation, but also the role of the physical therapist as a motivator to encourage patients to consistently participate in the rehabilitation process.

When he is not in the clinic treating patients, you can find Chris out on the slopes, on the lake, hiking the trails, or reading a good book.

“What I love the most about being a physical therapist is being able to show people the possibilities for improvement and helping to empower them to move toward where they want to be. I have really enjoyed returning to my hometown to serve this community of great people. I love the connections that I make with my clients and learning about them as people as well. In many cases I have made lasting connections that have turned into friendships.”

– Chris Vanderford, Doctor of Physical Therapy and owner of Action Point Physical Therapy
