We deliver whole patient care regardless of age, economic situation, or health concern. Over the course of your life and the spectrum of your care, from prevention and wellness to medical, dental, and behavioral health, from pediatrics to geriatrics, our team-based approach to patient care means we will help you achieve or maintain good health. Access for everyone. Regardless of how you pay, or the complexity of your conditions, we will help you find solutions. We serve everyone in Bonner and Boundary counties, whether you are covered by Medicare or Medicaid, have private insurance, are a self-pay patient, or one of our country’s veterans. If there are any concerns about how you will pay for services, talk to us. We’re here to help. We don’t just say it. We prove it. Ranked in the top 10% of community health centers across the nation, we have implemented systems that monitor and improve our delivery of care year after year. For example:
Over a period of four years, we decreased the number of patients with uncontrolled diabetes from 36 to 14%. In 2020, we reported the highest level of control in the state for our hypertensive population at 75%

We’re thankful for our patients, staff, and community who make North Idaho such a wonderful place to live and grow healthy together.

🍂 Our clinics will be closed Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th to allow our team time with their families.

Looking for a bold-flavored meal that’s diabetes-friendly and satisfying? Try this Spicy Beef & Pepper Stir-Fry! 🔥🥩🌶️

🤔 Why it works:
Lean beef gives you about 26 g of protein per serving great for muscle health and blood sugar control.
Colorful bell peppers and onions add fiber, vitamins, and flavor without loading up on refined carbs.
With only ~15 g total carbs per ¾-cup serving, it’s easier to fit into a balanced diabetes meal plan.
Ready in about 25-30 minutes. Perfect for a weekday dinner that doesn’t compromise health.

🥩🌶️ Ingredients:
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon ground mustard
1/3 cup cold water
1/3 cup reduced-sodium teriyaki sauce
1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
2 teaspoons canola oil or olive oil
1 package (16 ounces) frozen asparagus stir-fry vegetable blend
1 medium onion, halved and thinly sliced
2 cups hot cooked rice
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
Julienned green onions, optional
In a small bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and mustard. Stir in water and teriyaki sauce until smooth.

Instructions
In a large nonstick skillet or wok over medium heat, cook beef until no longer pink, 5-7 minutes, crumbling meat; drain and set aside. In the same pan, heat oil over medium heat; add vegetable blend and onion. Cook and stir until crisp-tender, 6-8 minutes.
Stir cornstarch mixture and add to pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes longer. Add beef; heat through. Serve with rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and, if desired, top with green onions.

Small lifestyle changes can make a big difference, especially when it comes to preventing or managing Type 2 Diabetes

Here are some simple ways to lower your risk:
🥗 Eat for balance. Choose more veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins — and cut back on sugary drinks.
🚶‍♀️ Move your body daily. Even a 20-minute walk can help regulate blood sugar and support heart health.
💧 Stay hydrated. Water helps your body use insulin more effectively.
🩺 Know your numbers. Regular screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol can catch changes early.
😴 Prioritize rest. Poor sleep can impact your metabolism and insulin sensitivity.
