Most of you have probably heard of Russian Shungite, which comes in two forms; regular Shungite and elite Shungite. The regular Shungite contains anywhere from 30-50% carbon, as where Elite Shungite is from a deeper vein, containing at least 90% carbon. Elite Russian Shungite only comes from one place in the world: The Republic of Karelia in Russia. What most people don’t know is that you can use a voltmeter (multimeter) to verify the authenticity of Russian Shungite. Authentic Russian Shungite will test at a resistance of zero ohms.
Now on the market is, Colombian Elite Shungite, which may or may not be sold under that name. I was gifted a piece that was sold as Russian Elite, but when I received it I could sense something about it was different. It felt denser energetically, like its energy moved slower through me. I was thrown for a bit because it really seemed like it was legit. Was this the Columbian Shungite I’ve heard of? It had exactly the same characteristics as the Russian Elite Shungite. It had the same luster, same fracture patterns, same light weight and rubbed off on my hands just like Russian Shungite. So I tested it with my voltmeter. It did not read at a zero for resistance on the voltmeter. In fact, not even close to zero. When I tested it, the readings would jump all over the place randomly. Just as my gut was telling me, this was the Columbian Elite Shungite I’ve heard about. After doing some research I found that Columbian Elite Shungite is actually Raquirite, a form of anthracite coal from Columbia.
But I was left wondering, how does this compare to Russian Elite Shungite? Surely it still has a purpose, right? So I get out my gadgets again, this time I get my EMF reader and I run it against the same tests as the Russian Elite to see if it can reduce the EMF as effectively. I was happy to see it could also bring the detectable levels of EMF to zero just as the Russian Shungite did. So at least I didn’t feel like we had been scammed!
So what does this all mean? It means that both of these stones have equally important purposes, it just depends on the task at hand.
If mitigating the effects of EMF is what you are after, then the Columbian Elite Shungite would shine at this task. And the good news is that you are likely to find it for a little less money, as the market seems to push in favor of Russian Shungite. In my experience most people are looking to buy Shungite for EMF protection.
If you are looking for physical healing, then I cannot stress how amazing the Russian Elite Shungite is. I feel it is one of the most overlooked stones for healing. There are two reasons for this, the first one being that it is completely electrically conductive, as indicated by the resistance reading of zero. Scientific law states that energy will take the path of least resistance, right? So when applying stones to your body it will allow for the maximum potential of movement of energy which is exactly what you want. The second reason is, Russian Shungite is made up of what is called a C60 fullerene, or a Buckminsterfullerene. It has carbon atoms that are fixed in a hollow shape resembling a soccer ball, made up of 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons. This makes Shungite an antioxidant with the superb ability to absorb free radicals. I have seen countless people find relief from arthritis, lymphedema, pain, inflammation and other various cysts and nodules because of how well it can absorb oxidative stress and dis-ease. All of those results I’ve seen happen with the use of regular Shungite, it doesn’t need to be Elite. It also makes an excellent gem water for detoxing. If you choose to do this, please make your water using the “indirect method” and start in small quantities with plenty of fresh water in between your doses! Too much at once can cause a herximer reaction, which is what happens when you release more toxins than what your body can filter out at once.
