Our Story

Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory has been the leading cremation and funeral service provider in Erie County and beyond for the past 20 years. Established in 1902, we have evolved and grown through the decades to provide the utmost care and compassion to our community. We are constantly looking for ways to expand our facilities and enhance our services to better serve local families.

Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory brings to your community the newest, most technologically advanced cremation center in all of North-Central Ohio. Our facility is designed to alleviate concerns and bring closure to your family when you select cremation. We own and operate our crematory, so your loved one never leaves our care. Our peaceful Serenity Room provides the opportunity for viewing and reflection by famliy members prior to cremation. By touring our facility and having the opportinuty to understand our caring process, we offer you peace of mind. In addition, by owning and operating our own cemetery, we can provide full burial options, mausoleum and niche entomment, and urn gardens for those who choose cremation. Over time we expanded our offerings to include cremation services for your pets. Pets are often part of the family, and so we opened and operate our separate pet crematory to provide families with pet cremation services at another difficult time. Your four-legged friends will be cared for with the same respect and compassion by our staff, as they, too, remain in our care throughout the entire cremation process. At our Remembrance Center and Gift Gallery, gifts for all gift-giving occassions are available to help honor and pay tribute to those special people in our lives.

Most recently we evolved to better serve our community by opening The Legacy Center. This facility is designed to host luncheon gatherings and Celebrations of Life, with seating for up to 80 guests and a kitchenette with serving station. This facility is separate from our funeral homes to help families transition after the funeral ceremony to the next step of their grief journey. We believe that our commitment to serve a family should not end abruptly at the gravesite, but instead the healing process should continue on with the support of family and friends. By gathering for a shared meal, a family has the opportunity for fellowship and reminiscing about their loved one’s life legacy. Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory can coordinate all of your funeral, cremation and burial needs. Let us handle the details so you can focus on what's most important during this difficult time - yourself and your loved ones. That's a level of convenicence you simply won't find with other funeral homes. If you need assistance or have a question, call us at 419-626-3632. You are always invited to stop by our beautiful facilities and discover what makes our funeral homes and cremation center so incredibly unique. By understanding the unmatched service we provide and having your questions answered, your continued trust and confidence in our caring staff will be affirmed. When you need someone to trust, call Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory.
