I always seem to fall off my healthy choices between my birthday (11/9) and New Year. This past year, I started dealing with some health problems that had me exhausted and I was in a mental funk too. The combination of all those things had me feeling especially lazy, so basically I was doing more snacking and slacking. I didnt even really gain much weight, but I was more bloated and less strong, I hated how I was starting to feeling blah and dejected all the time.
On New Year Day, I bought an outfit and was pretty upset with how tight it fit. I decided that I needed to tighten up with my dietary choices and be more disciplined with my own fitness again. I set some rules and started my own health challenge. I didn't set a weight goal. I didn't set an "inches" goal. I didn't set a pole goal. I didn't set any goal besides wanting to feel better in my body and mind by my daughter's bday, which was roughly 6 weeks away.
The day after my before pics, I joined the challenge late, and that was so much fun. It as a great for motivation and I learned some new things from that have now been implemented into my regular training. I also went harder into my mental health work, prioritizing my somatic exercises and regular breathwork in addition to my normal pole and cross training. And even though I got distracted being booed up by mid challenge (we both love pizza and cuddles as much as gym sessions and eating clean lol)... I am still so happy with the progress I made in six weeks.
It doesn't matter that I "only" lost 6lbs. I feel good looking in the mirror. I've had more energy and I've been sleeping better. I'm stronger in my dancing, happier in my daily life and more motivated than ever to keep making progress in my health.
If you want to transform your mind, body and soul... Come train with me at Up in the Stars Studio! Along with pole and basic fitness instruction, I'm also a life coach with certs in REBT, anatomy, guided meditation and holistic health. I love helping people feel empowered and improve their lives for the better.
