On Friday, October 18th, our beloved father, Mauro Rivera, was tragically injured in a pedestrian vehicle accident on Merchants Square in Sandwich, (under investigation) pinning him between the vehicle and the building structure.
He was immediately airlifted to Boston, where he remains in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit with multiple serious injuries — including multiple severe injuries, including fractured ribs, hips, pelvis, a pneumothorax, and internal trauma. Our family is praying around the clock as he fights to recover.
As Sandwich residents, healthcare professionals and local business owners we are immensely grateful to the first responders, emergency personnel, and medical team caring for him.
Our family is devastated but clinging tightly to faith and hope as he continues to fight with the same strength and spirit that defines him. He is fighting so hard, and we’re holding onto every ounce of faith we have. My dad is the hardest-working man I’ve ever known — strong, humble, and loved by everyone who’s ever met him. Please, keep him in your prayers. 💔🙏
Again, We’re so grateful to the first responders and medical team caring for him, and to everyone who’s reached out — your love means more than words can say.
