Just a quick update to let everyone know the latest directives regarding dental treatment during the COVID-19 National Emergency.

Last week the Massachusetts Dental Society recommended extending the closure of dental offices in the state and postponement of non-emergent dental treatment through May 4th. This is in line with the governor’s “Stay At Home” order through the same date.

We have reached out to reschedule all appointments through May 4th and we will continue to closely follow any further recommendations. As always, I am available for emergencies. The current recommendations are to avoid in-person visits when possible, but my goal will always be to help manage and treat pain promptly.

We hope everyone is staying safe, happy, and healthy. We are all in this together.

To Our Dear Dental Family,

Just a little note to explain our unprecedented closing for the next few weeks. This past weekend, the Massachusetts Dental Society recommended that all dental offices in the state close temporarily until April 7, 2020. The American Dental Association followed up with a similar directive. Although these were recommendations and not requirements, we feel that community safety is of utmost importance. Dental offices use standard precautions to prevent disease transmission and we feel very confident in these measures. However, by dental offices closing, we are helping to limit public contact between individuals and preserve personal protective equipment for practitioners on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak.

I, Dr. Colleen, will be available to patients with urgent and emergency needs. I will do everything I can to treat your dental pain during this time.

We are aware that we had to reschedule some appointments later in the summer than we would have liked. We have discussed adding additional hours when we are back to a routine schedule so that we can accommodate everyone who needs an appointment.

I think I can speak for Jan, Mo, Julia, Amanda, and Kelly when I say that we miss our patients and look very much forward to a time when we see you again. As always, it’s a privilege to practice dentistry and to have you as part of our practice.
