Real connections don’t happen by accident.

At Friends House, generations come together in ways that feel natural—whether it’s students from the Friends School next door spending time on campus, kids fishing at the pond, or learning side by side with residents in the woodshop.

These moments bring energy, perspective, and a sense of continuity to everyday life.

It’s not a special event—it’s part of how life unfolds here.

Looks like the Friends House pond has some new residents. 🦆

One of the many things people enjoy about life here is sharing the campus with the wildlife that calls it home. This week, a family of ducklings made an appearance at the pond, giving residents another reason to pause, smile, and enjoy the view.

Moments like these are part of everyday life in Sandy Spring, where nature is never far away.

Creativity doesn’t have to stop—it just takes on new forms.

On National Creativity Day, we’re highlighting ArtSpace at Friends House. It’s a resident-led space where people explore painting, collage, photography, and more, while connecting with others who enjoy creating.

It’s less about the finished piece and more about the process, the conversation, and the shared experience.

Hot dogs, burgers, good conversations, and plenty of laughter 🍔🌭

Our May Meet & Greet Cookout brought residents together for an evening of catching up, meeting new neighbors, and enjoying time with friends around the table. Judging by these smiles, we’d say the cookout was a success.

At Friends House, connection doesn’t always happen through formal events. Sometimes it’s as simple as sharing a meal and staying a little longer to talk.

Staying active is easier when it’s part of your everyday environment.

On National Senior Health & Fitness Day, it’s a reminder that movement, connection, and access all work together to support overall well-being. At Friends House, that shows up in the spaces, the routines, and the opportunities to stay engaged throughout the day.

At Friends House, wellness isn't a resolution — it's a daily rhythm.

Because the best fitness plan is the one you actually love.

At Friends House, we pause to reflect on their sacrifice and the lives they lived.
