In the midst of life’s challenges, it’s natural to want to find someone who can help you to find a greater sense of peace and perspective. When beginning therapy, you want to know that you are safe to share your fears, worries, doubts, and struggles in an environment that is compassionate and nonjudgmental. When you find a therapist that is a good fit, the healing journey becomes a collaborative process where you can shift out of survival mode, gain greater insight into your own experience, and develop new skills that can support you in making change in your life. In therapy, you are supported in the process of acknowledging painful experiences, challenging patterns of thought and behavior, and finding a new way forward. The path of healing and transformation isn’t easy or linear, but as you connect with your own inherent wisdom and strengths, it is possible to create a life filled with greater aliveness, authenticity, and freedom. The most important thing I ever say to my clients is “you are the expert in YOU!” In therapy, I am your companion and guide, holding space with you as you explore your thoughts, feelings, needs, experiences, and relationships. I bring respect and empathy to the therapeutic relationship, and my approach is client-centered, non-hierarchical, and empowering. My therapeutic perspective is holistic and integrative, acknowledging the interdependence of mind, body, and spirit in the journey of healing. Together, we will clarify goals and intentions for therapy, centering our process on what matters most, making space for both depth and practicality. While talk therapy is perfect for some clients, others benefit from a less linear approach, and I draw from a variety of techniques and modalities, including creative & expressive arts, contemplative practices, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and integrative support for clients who feel called to explore ketamine and psychedelic therapies. I work with clients of diverse identities and cultural backgrounds, and especially welcome clients who identify as members of the LGBT+ community. If you are ready to open to change and step more fully into the process of healing, I am accepting new telehealth clients throughout the state of Maryland and I would be delighted to support you.
