Join us in celebrating humanKIND winner Amari Mckinnie, Patient Transporter in Indianapolis, IN!

While transporting a patient back to their room, Amari discovered there was no oxygen hookup available on the wall just as the patient was transferred to bed and removed from portable oxygen. When the patient began gasping for air and his condition rapidly deteriorated, Amari's quick thinking saved the day. He immediately repositioned the stretcher to reconnect the patient to oxygen before the medical emergency response team arrived.

Despite this being Amari's first experience with a medical code, he responded with perfect urgency and clinical judgment. His swift actions and dedication to patient care exemplify the values we celebrate. Thank you Amari for your outstanding service to our team and patients!

Powered by our amazing regional DIAC teams, we came together to serve 1,098 frontline associates who requested backpacks filled with school supplies for their elementary through high school-aged children. We distributed a total of 2,888 backpacks, helping ensure every child began the school year with the tools to succeed! August is Kids Eat Right Month!

To celebrate, our associates at our children’s hospital in Indianapolis hosted a lobby event featuring nutritious snacks and educational materials. Our culinary team delighted patients, visitors, and staff with fresh yogurt parfaits, while our Pediatric Registered Dietitians (RDs) shared quick and easy tips for incorporating fruits and vegetables into everyday meals. Throughout the month, the team has also streamed informative graphics on the lobby TVs, helping spread nutrition awareness to visitors.
