About Dr. Dana Neacsu
Dr. Dana Neacsu is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is a recipient of The Joseph Caltabiano Award for Professionalism in Medicine.
Early in her career, Dr. Neacsu was a teaching associate and instructed students from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Later, she was an instructor within the medicine clinical track at the Emory University School of Medicine, teaching physicians’ assistants. She then worked at some of the major hospitals in the Atlanta area as a specialist in internal medicine.
Compelled to learn more about integrative medicine, Dr. Neacsu was accepted into the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellowship, one of the oldest and most respected programs of its nature in the country, founded and taught by Dr. Andrew Weil . After graduating from this 1000-hour program, she completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice® course from the Institute for Functional Medicine. In addition, Dr. Neacsu has specialty training in Reiki and certain stress-reduction techniques.
Dr. Neacsu is one of the few practitioners in Atlanta who completed the Kalish Institute Advanced Functional Medicine course and she is currently using his treatment protocol for treating various conditions including adrenal fatigue. In May 2016 a research study published by two Mayo Clinic researchers confirmed the efficacy of the Kalish Method showing significant improvements in GI health and quality of life in the study participants. The study was based on Dr. Kalish’s model of Functional Medicine based on 25 years of successful clinical results. Graduates of The Kalish Institute include practitioners ranging from Dr. Mercola’s medical staff to Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic physicians.
Integrative medicine combines effective strategies and therapies from multiple methods of healing, both conventional and alternative. At its heart, this type of patient care focuses on the true problem, not just the related symptoms and effects. Accordingly, our goal is to discover the root cause (or causes) of whatever issues you are experiencing, then we concentrate our efforts there.
Unfortunately in today’s culture, we are inundated by the media and advertising worlds with images of pharmaceutical panaceas and quick-fix solutions. The message given is one of low effort and high reward; for example, we can be led to believe that by taking one pill a day we will be healed. However, this type of treatment is not likely going to be a successful course of action for you.
