We are now offering Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Tests. Our rapid antigen tests are performed by qualified collectors and processed through the lab per CDC test requirements. Our office hours for Rapid Antigen Tests are:
Mon-Thur from 8am to 4pm

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides support services as assigned:
Answer calls and schedule appointments for patient testing
Audit of support documents submitted by patients
Learning appropriate programs used for billing and audit correction
Understand Company standards and safety procedures
Complete SOP and Competency test
Comply with HIPAA, governmental and accreditation regulations.
Participate in departmental meetings
Utilize computers for basic report retrieval and data input
Performs other duties as assigned

Under the general supervision of the Safety Compliance Officer (SCO), the Lab Sample Collector will provide service to patients, maintain their work and lab area, and follow directives as outlined in the SOP. There will be many types of collections including, but not limited to, nasopharyngeal swab, or anterior nasal swab. All policies and procedures will be followed for Privacy and OSHA for safety in the work environment. The collector will be responsible for making sure that patient and record information is accurate and store samples as required.

Assemble and set up work station and lab area
Prepare vials for UV processing
Properly assist patients in a clear but courteous manner the process of the swabbing
Collects and stores samples according to established procedures
Verifies patient identification, verifies all tests ordered and completes all required demographic data and requisitions
Maintains a clean and safe work environment
Wears and properly disposes of PPE, approved scrubs, and appropriate footwear during sample collection/processing
Understand compliance protocols and (PHI/HIPAA)
Complies with OSHA regulations regarding barrier protection, hazardous waste disposal (retaining manifests (Invoice)), and proper sample preparation for mailing.
Completes SOP and competency education and testing
Notifies their SCO of any incidents or issues immediately
Understands patient adverse reactions protocols
Follows proper incident procedures in the event of accident, sample spill, and patient injury
Other duties assigned

Types of collections include Nasopharyngeal swab, or anterior nasal swab. All Bio-reference policies will be followed for Privacy and OSHA for safety in the work Environment. The collector may also take patient and donor information, record documentation, and store samples as required.
Essential Duties Summary

• Assemble and set up medical instruments (testing kits)
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the swabbing
• Collects swabs for professional clientele
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures
• Verifies patient identification, verifies all tests ordered and completes all required demographic data and requisitions
• Contacts client to retrieve any missing data including tracing
• Records (performs) daily temperatures, decontamination, and performs all other necessary documentation requirements
• Maintains a clean & safe work environment
• Wears appropriate PPE, approved scrubs, and appropriate footwear during specimen collection/processing
• Understands compliance protocols and ( PHI / HIPAA )
• Complies with OSH and DEP regulations regarding barrier protection, sharps disposal, hazardous waste disposal (retaining manifests), and proper specimen transport
• Completes annual training and completes continuing education training
• Notifies their Site Manager of any incidents or issues immediately
• Understands patient adverse reactions protocols
• Follows proper incident procedures in the event of an accident, specimen breakage, specimen spill, and patient injury
• Other duties as assigned

High school or equivalent. Lab assistant training, medical assistant training or similar formal clinical education.

Updates as of November 10, 2021.

1-Updated to recommend universal indoor masking in ECE programs for everyone ages 2 and older, and other strategies to prevent spread of COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status.
Added screening testing information to prevention strategies section.

2-Added recommendation for fully vaccinated people who have a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 to be tested 5-7 days after exposure, regardless of whether they have symptoms.

3-Added recommendations for staying home, testing, and masking for individuals with COVID-19 in the last 90 days.
