This morning, 8 years ago I knew she didn’t have a lot of time left, but I didn’t know it would be her last day.
It was the best Sunday. I went over early to help my dad so he could go to church. I watched the Spoken Word with her and my sister came over. The neighbor boys visited to bring us the sacrament.
That day her house was FILLED with family, friends & neighbors. There was so much joy & so many tears. It was obvious everyone was saying their last goodbye.
About 9:30 pm we said family prayer, almost everyone filed out and TJ took my girls home. A few of us were around her bedside when it became clear she was taking her last breath. It was beautiful, peaceful & awful all at once.
I’ll never forget that moment & all that she taught me about being a covenant woman through her actions those final few weeks of her life. She is my ultimate example of Christ-like love & female strength & power. I’m so grateful I was truly blessed with the best.😇
