May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in the United States, affecting over 40 million adults. Nearly 1 in 5 people experience it, yet less than half receive support.

Anxiety can feel like a smoke alarm that goes off even when there is no fire.

It stays on in the background
scanning, predicting, preparing
trying to keep you one step ahead of something that has not happened

Over time, it can get so familiar that it stops feeling like a signal and starts feeling like who you are.

If your mind feels like it is always running ahead
if it is hard to settle, even in quiet moments
if you replay, predict, or brace more than you rest

you might be dealing with anxiety, not just stress.

You do not have to hold that by yourself.

Let someone be in it with you. Whether it is a friend, a partner, or a professional, having space to talk and tools to respond differently can make a real difference.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health is not something “extra” to take care of when life slows down. It is part of your everyday wellbeing, just like sleep, nutrition, and movement.

You do not have to be in crisis to deserve support.
You do not have to have the “right words” to start.
You do not have to do it alone.

This month, consider one small step:
• checking in with yourself honestly
• setting one boundary
• reaching out to someone you trust
• or asking for professional support

Healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about creating space to be more fully yourself.

If you have been thinking about starting therapy, this can be your sign.

You are allowed to take care of your mind.

I’m excited to share that I’ve officially moved into private practice.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and deeper patterns that feel hard to shift. My approach is rooted in curiosity, self-understanding, and helping you build a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

I’m currently accepting new clients and offer telehealth sessions, with limited in-person availability. I accept Cigna, BCBS, Aetna, and Quest Behavioral Health.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy or are looking for a new provider, you’re welcome to reach out:

Something is shifting soon.

I’ve been quietly building a space for people who feel undone after setting a boundary…

For the ones learning how to say no, stay soft, and stop carrying what was never theirs.

It’s not quite ready—but it’s getting close.

A softer way to carry what’s yours is on its way.

Lately, I’ve been feeling the weight of everything happening in our country. As a mental health therapist, I see firsthand how uncertainty, division, and constant exposure to negativity impact our well-being—including my own. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but I remind myself that the only thing I truly have control over is how I spend my time and the actions I take.

Now, more than ever, we need to stay informed—not just by consuming headlines but by seeking out trustworthy, neutral sources that prioritize facts over fear. It’s tempting to retreat into echo chambers, but real understanding comes from listening to different perspectives with an open mind.

We also have a responsibility to be informed about actions that are unconstitutional. Our rights and the foundation of our democracy depend on knowledge and vigilance. Understanding what is and isn’t lawful is essential to holding leaders accountable and ensuring that our nation remains one that upholds justice and equality for all.

Despite our differences, we all share something important: we are Americans. And right now, we need to find ways to come together, to support each other, and to work toward solutions instead of deepening divides.

Take care of your mental health. Be mindful of what you consume. Focus on what you can control. And remember, we’re all in this together.

As a mental health counselor, I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families overcome their struggles and achieve a fulfilling life. I hold strong values of compassion, empathy, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their background, beliefs, gender, or sexual orientation and expression.

In my work with individuals, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I work collaboratively with my clients to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs. I have a strong foundation in attachment theory and understand the importance of secure attachments in mental health and well-being. I work with my clients to develop a secure therapeutic relationship and to explore how attachment experiences may be impacting their current relationships and mental health.

My work with the LGBT community has been particularly rewarding, as I have seen firsthand the impact of social stigma and discrimination on mental health. I am committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all of my clients, and to advocating for their rights and well-being.

In addition to my work with individuals, I also have experience working with couples. I use evidence-based approaches to help couples improve communication, resolve conflicts, and develop skills for connection. I have worked with married couples and those in premarital counseling, helping them to build a strong foundation for their relationship and navigate the challenges of married life.

Finally, I am comfortable working with clients who have spiritual or religious beliefs, and I am committed to respecting and supporting their beliefs as part of their treatment. I believe that mental health and spirituality are interconnected, and I work with my clients to explore the role of spirituality in their lives and how it can be used to support their mental health and well-being.

Overall, my position as a mental health counselor has allowed me to support and empower individuals and couples from all walks of life. I am honored to be a part of their journey towards healing and self-discovery, and I am committed to providing compassionate and effective care to all of my clients
