If you’re starting clear braces, you might notice a slight change in your speech at first, sometimes even a small lisp. This happens because the aligners create a thin barrier over your teeth, and your tongue needs a little time to adjust. The good news is that it’s temporary! Most people adapt within just a few days to a week. Practicing speaking out loud, reading to yourself, and staying hydrated can help speed things up.

In some cases, clear braces can actually improve speech over time by correcting misaligned teeth that once caused difficulties.
