🌿✨ Sound Bath with Jarek ✨🌿Sunday, Feb 8 • 4:00 PM

In times like these, when the world feels loud and heavy, your nervous system deserves a moment of deep rest.

Join us for a Sound Bath with Jarek, a deeply calming experience designed to help your body shift out of stress and into a state of ease. Through the gentle vibrations of gongs and sound bowls, your nervous system is invited to slow down, soften, and reset.

Sound healing works by introducing steady, soothing frequencies that help the brain move into more relaxed states — the same states where healing, integration, and emotional processing naturally happen. It’s one of the most accessible ways to support trauma recovery without needing to talk, analyze, or “do” anything at all.

✨ What to expect:
▪️ You’ll lie down on the floor or relax in a chair
▪️ Jarek will guide the space using gongs and sound bowls
▪️ You simply rest, breathe, and receive

No experience needed. No effort required. Just arrive and let your body do what it already knows how to do — restore.

🧘‍♀️ Bring whatever helps you feel cozy: a blanket, pillow, eye mask, or favorite layers.

In challenging times, rest is not a luxury — it’s resistance, it’s resilience, and it’s how we keep showing up for ourselves and each other.

Come decompress. Come breathe. Come be held by sound. 💛

✊ Know Your Rights Training Series ✊
Hosted by About Face, Common Defense, & the Military Law Task Force

In response to escalating global conflict and growing concerns about prolonged military engagement, Lindsey is partnering with About Face, Common Defense, and the Military Law Task Force to launch a recurring Know Your Rights training series focused on:

▪️ Unlawful orders
▪️ Ethical leadership
▪️ Legal protections for Service Members and Military Families

These trainings will be held every other week, alternating between live, in-person sessions and virtual options, and are designed to give people clear, accurate information about their rights, including:

✔️ Freedom of speech, protest, press, and social media
✔️ How to seek redress through Congress and the Inspector General
✔️ Whistleblower protections
✔️ What qualifies as a lawful vs. unlawful order
✔️ Your legal obligation — and options — if you receive an unlawful order

The goal is simple:
👉 Not to create panic.
👉 Not to promote defiance for its own sake.
But to make sure Service Members and their families are not navigating impossible ethical decisions alone or without knowing what options they actually have.

These trainings also address the mental and emotional toll of military service, offering trauma-informed strategies to help participants manage stress, fear, and moral conflict — while staying connected to community and support networks.

This is about protecting the people who serve — not using them.
Ethical leadership means knowing the law, honoring your conscience, and having support when the stakes are high.

🟢 Open to Service Members, Veterans, Military Families, and community members.

First In-Person Training:
🗓️ Saturday, Jan 24 at 2 PM

🕊️ Walk for Peace Is Coming to North Carolina 🕊️

In a world that feels heavy and uncertain, there are still people choosing to walk — literally — toward peace, compassion, and connection.

A group of Buddhist monks are currently walking from Texas to Washington, DC as part of the Walk for Peace, carrying a message of nonviolence, love, and collective healing across the country. And they’ll be arriving in North Carolina next week. 💛

Here’s when they’re expected to be in our area:

📍 Jan 15 – Charlotte, NC
📍 Jan 19 – Greensboro, NC
📍 Jan 20–21 – Siler City, NC
📍 Jan 24 – Raleigh, NC

When they reach Siler City, we’re planning to organize a little field trip so we can go welcome them, walk with them for a bit, and offer our love and support. We’ll share details as soon as we finalize timing and logistics.

Their walk is a powerful reminder that resistance doesn’t always look like shouting — sometimes it looks like putting one foot in front of the other, choosing compassion, and refusing to give up on each other.

You can follow their journey (and their very beloved dog 🐕 Aloka, the Peace Dog!) and check their daily route updates here:

🐾 Aloka the Peace Dog: https://www.facebook.com/Alokathepeacedog

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, tired, or unsure what to do right now — this is your sign that showing up with love still matters. And we’re honored to show up for this. ✨

Stay tuned for Siler City field trip details.
Let’s walk toward peace together. 🕊️💛

We are Mike and Lindsey Knapp, practicing yogis and co-owners of Sanford Yoga and Community Center.

Sanford needs a yoga studio. When Holly and Sally announced their closing in early 2020, we knew we had to take the reins in order to keep the spirit of movement through yoga alive. We envisioned a space which could offer a diverse array of wellness offerings, not just yoga classes. We rallied the instructors together and are offering classes to keep hope alive.

Neither of us have never done anything without a challenge. As we adapt to the ever changing world around us, our roots grow even stronger. Come and live free with us.
