✨ In ABA, We Don't Just Teach Kids to Label the World—we Teach Them How to Change It.

🚀 That Starts with the Mand.

❓ What is a Mand?
Simply put, a mand is a request. It’s the only type of communication where the speaker gets exactly what they asked for.

🌟 Why it’s a Game-Changer for Autism:
- Reduces Frustration: Many "challenging behaviors" are actually just "primitive mands." When a child learns to say "Open" instead of screaming at a closed door, their stress levels drop instantly.
- Driven by Motivation: We use what the child already wants to teach them that their voice has power.
- Builds Independence: It moves a child from being a passive observer to an active participant in their own life.

🛠️ How ABA Professionals Use It:
We "capture and contrive" moments of motivation. If a child wants to blow bubbles, we might hold the wand and wait for a "mand." When they communicate, the bubbles appear! 🫧

🎯 The Goal:
To replace "guessing games" with clear, functional communication that empowers the individual.
